Here are the vendor photos followed by mine. Some are taken in an LED light box and the others are in natural daylight (evening) and a couple in indoor lighting. The Zircon is 3.45ct and the Garnet is 2.40ct.

They look gorgeous. Go nicely together too - I like your photoshoot! Did I read in a post earlier that they are soon to be sent to DK for setting? What are your plans for them?

Yes they are off to David Klass for setting. I want to set the Zircon in a similar style to Ellen’s beautiful Aquamarine. The Garnet will go in yellow gold. I have seen two settings that I am inspired by.

Oooh nice, seems like you are going more contemporary for the zircon and vintage for the garnet?
My lovely Nan has a Victorian aquamarine solitaire in platinum. Your stone and the setting you like put me in mind of it. It's very dark and rich for an aqua probably a similar size to yours and the setting is a solitaire fairly plain for the period no miligrain just a beautiful gallery infilled by hearts side by side.
The yellow gold will look beautiful with the garnet judging my the stone holder

Your Nan’s ring sounds beautiful. I love old styles and new. I would love a collection of mixed styles! Different ring for different moods.

Those colors and cuts are so lovely!

She's very proud of it as it was only £30 and subsequently valued for 40 times as much she loves a bargainI'm a March birthday and it's been left to me in her will, she's been telling me that for 30 years lol. Obviously I'd rather have her. I will see if I can get a photo.
I'm exactly the same in my tastes I love very contemporary styles but also antique in every color! (Sadly my collection remains small at the moment but a girl can dream). Looking forward to seeing the progression of your project Maisie!

I hope you can get a photo. I’d love to see it. Can you imagine paying £30 for a ring now? We would have one of everything!

Ha perhaps my collection would be huge but if rings were that cheap everyone else would be the same and have loads and I'm not sure they would feel so special.
This was in the 1970s so whilst expensive it wasn't ridiculous. She promptly got a valuation for around £1300 so even assuming that those valuations are sometimes 5x the actual value I think £250 should have been more like it. Good for Nan. I will get a photo.

I remember my first ring that was bought for me. It was 1986 and my boyfriend bought me a ring like this. Everyone had one. A tiny sapphire surrounded by cz. I don’t even know where it is now. I bet he took it back when we broke up! Ahh the 80’s. Good days. =)2

Yeah I had some not unlike that. Now even those rings are £150! Oh hang on I speak too soon. Argos to the rescue lots of cz goodness for only £109.99!

Some photos of Nan's aquamarine ring. The photos are inside at a North facing window so don't really show the stone off, she had it on for a family bbq the other day and the colour looked stunning.

Thank you for sharing! It’s a lovely colour! Usually the aquamarine I’ve seen is that light blue tone. This one is gorgeous!
