Is jewelryhoo seperate from lan.bo or are they the same company? My favorite setting for my asscher is a lan one but I am shying away from this based on some feedback from PSers. My second choice is a jewelryhoo. I understand sometimes one seller operates numerous stores like Tan does

Jewelyhoo is one of lan.b04's stores.

Re: jewelryhoo/lan.bo4

Thanks TL. UGH why does he have all the settings I like for my asscher? Why am I such a wreck about buying one from him? I did email him and told him I need to take the stone to get more measurements because I wanted to give him accurate info because if the setting didn't fit I'd have to return it. He suggested I send the stone for him to set. I understand most people here do not advise that. So I told him I would prefer not to send it overseas.

Anyone have good experiences having lan.bo4 or jewelryhoo customize a setting to fit their stone?

I think LaurenThePartier has had good experiences with them. Also, I had a setting customized to fit a larger stone (emerald-cut ametrine; setting was a pave split-shank halo), and they did it very nicely for a reasonable price.

I have quite a few custom Jewelryhoo/Lan.bo4 settings, and I've had great luck as long as I'm SUPER explicit on the shape and exact size of the stone. Pictures help. My peridot split shank was supposed to fit an asscher, but it came to fit a cushion.

Another happy lan.bo4 customer! In fact (dare I say it) the triple diamond halo I got from him knocks spots off some of the LOGR settings I have!

Ooooh can I see it?

Oh yes I remember now. I was really taken with the band on the aqua

Charmypoo has seemed to have very good luck with him. I think she writes him explicit instructions in a special format she uses. I'm still too scared to buy a customized piece from him. I've never had a problem with LOGR customizations.

Actually she is the one who told me she had a falling out with him over her last purchase......... part of me says just go for it. Others have had good luck. Part of me says don't do it. I just gravitate towards the settings he has. Hmmmm if I show LOGR a setting will they quote me a price on it?

You can customize a lot of LOGR's. I just customized an oval LOGR to fit a cushion, so it doesn't hurt to ask. Just make sure you get Stephen to confirm all customizations in writing, so if there's a mix up, he will correct it for you. I have done so many customizations with LOGR, and I own 20 settings  from him.

I had lots of good experiences with lan.bo except for the last two which are completely custom made settings - custom design and size. He just can't make custom settings the way I want ... the truth is I can't expect much for the price I pay. I did send him a tsavorite once and he did a really good job making the stone fit perfectly ... he also did an AMAZING job on the prongs - I was really impressed with the prong work. I sent him another pricer stone once and it magically disappeared and got lost .. I am still not convinced it never arrived.

this is actually a stock setting of his for a 7.5 mm princess. I would need it modified for a 8.9 mm asscher. I will not send my stone overseas. I am heading to find a jeweler today who can measure diagonal and depth as Gene did not give me those measurements. We will go from there......thanks for the replies
