Hi all,
So I am still loving my JKT pendant- it always gets compliments, and I like it more the more I wear it- except for one thing. The silver is very tarnished- its a real shame as it is affecting the overall beauty of the pendant. I though argentium was tarnish resistant?
Does anyone know how to get rid of the tarnish- I have never cleaned it.....
Is it normal for it to tarnish so quickly? I have it since December, and don t wear it THAT often.
Thanks in advance!

I would write her directly about it. :)

My JKT pieces haven''t tarnished at all, so I''m not sure what that''s all about. Ask Julia about it!

My ring also tarnished though it seemed to wipe off easily enough.

Argentium shouldn''t tarnish easily. Is it just a shade of yellow to the silver or are you getting heavy, dark tarnish?

My favourite method of cleaning silver is electrolitic (fancy, isn''t it?). Place a sheet of aluminum foil shiny side up in a container, cover with water with a teaspoon or so of baking soda in it and place the piece in the container so that it is submerged and touching the foil. It should clear right up.

Thanks All!
Will try the impressively low tech electrolitic method (sounds fantastic lady D)!

That is my favorite way of cleaning silver, also. It works great for flatware. Sometimes you will see advertisements for all sorts of expensive versions of the process on TV or internet. Just use your aluminum foil method. It works great and so little clean up. I just toss mine in the recycle bin.

the pendant also have yellow gold- is it ok for yellow gold too?
Thanks again y''all- I love PS!

Mine looked pretty dark, but I do have a silver cleaning cloth which took care of most of the tarnish. some areas I couldn''t get to so will try your other method to clean it up.

I haven''t worn it in a while so I don''t know if that had something to do with it.

Yep - safe for gold too.

Hello, argentium is tarnish resistant, not non-tarnish, so it will tarnish over time, albeit more slowly than sterling silver. A metalsmith told me recently that body oil will coat and protect silver, reducing tarnish if the piece is worn often.

Hope this helps.
