Hello! I''ve been posting here and there but haven''t really been sure about actually planning a wedding. I''m not even engaged yet but it''s coming soon. we plan on getting married very shortly after the engagement so BF gave his blessing for me to go ahead and plan the girlie stuff right now so I won''t be stressed when the time comes. The wedding will be super small and intimate so really all I have to worry about it my my dress, shoes, etc. and then together we will pick the date and venue.

So anyway, I already have shoes which are just white flip flops (we live in FL and I live in flip flops constantly) and finally ordered my dress yesterday after about a month of searching. It should be here in about 3 weeks and then I''m guessing I''ll need a couple of weeks for alterations since I ordered a size large than what I normally wear. Once he does pop the question we''ll order our bands and set the date, hoping for Thanksgiving or the very end of the year.

So here it is but of course it will be in white :)

Congrats

I just bought my wedding dress too and it''s such a relief.

Your style is similar to mine in that it''s straight. It was murder finding a straight dress I liked without a long train.

All the best

Did you try it on or just order it online? Just an FYI wedding dresses are a must try on before you buy minus alterations that you know you''ll need anyway. What looks good on a model usually does not look ok on the normal consumer. It is beautiful though ... it''s not a wedding dress though is it?

I love that dress! Sparkalicious is using those for her BM dresses. Woohoo, big check!

Beautiful dress! So soft and flowy and romantic. I love the bodice and neckline too! Is it Melissa Sweet? Looks like something she would design. What color did you get it in? Ivory/white or something different? Looks perfect for a beach ceremony.

Does it really matter if its a "real" wedding dress or not? She loves it and wants to wear it when she gets married. Therefore, it's a wedding dress to her!

ETA: I see you're getting it in white. Oops! Missed that line the first time.

Nice, nice! Priscilla of Boston! I tried that dress on a few months back- it''s gorgeous and uber flattering! I hope you simply ADORE it once it comes in!

Ditto - Alfred Angelo does some lovely bridesmaid''s dresses that could easliy pass as wedding gowns if bought in ivory or white. Then again color doesn''t matter either - you can get married in whatever color and style you like

Beautiful dress. Amsale? Her dresses always fit wonderfully and look great.

Nevermind, I see someone mentioned Priscilla of Boston. I haven't worn one personally, but know many who have selected her dresses for bridesmaids.

Gorgeous! I love this dress. When I was BM dress shopping with my sister a group of BM''s for another wedding were being fitted for this dress. It''s super flattering and the fabric is beautiful. Can''t wait to see pics of you in it.

Lovely! I''m a huge sucker for untraditional dresses!

So does Bari Jay. Ahhhhh I may have to remarry in a few years to wear one, they''re so pretty!

Gorgeous dress! I tried a few on in that style and they look horrid on me

But I love to see pictures of empire waist dresses on other people

I can''t wait to see pics when you get it in. And btw, I love POB; they just have so many clean beautiful designs. I tried on many of their BM dresses before picking a tea length "reception dress" for my wedding dress. Yay for non-traditional dress choices

It''s a beautiful dress! Sending engagement dust to you!

A dress fit for a goddess!! It is beautiful!

Thanks everyone! My dress is actually being made to look like the POB one, it''s not an actual POB. Just wanted to make that clear.

No, I have no tried it on but I''ve tried on similar dresses before and they look good on me. I''m short and have a tummy to hide but want to show my shoulders and decollage. I''m sure it will be fine. I ordered two sizes too big so I can have it altered once it gets here.

BF is now talking about moving the wedding up to October so I really, really hope this dress comes on time!

Wow-that''s a fabulous dress!
