Oh Gypsy, I''m so sorry, but thank God you''re all OK. I grew up in NYC and we luckily never had a break in but my parents'' friends had 3 robberies in their house over the years, and they always felt so violated. I hope that you''re doing OK.

Start hitting the local pawnshops to see if any of your stuff shows up, it is a slim chance but you may get lucky, try get some rest.

Gypsy, the exact same thing happened to my mom. Mostly heirlooms and things that she had received from her late father. Start looking at pawnshops today!! I found out the people that sold my mom''s things only did it one town over, and the very next day as well. This stuff is of no value to them, and they only want the cash. If you have ANY pictures or detailed descriptions of the jewelry, I would take it to local pawn shops and let them know to look for it, and that it is stolen. Heck, give them copies to keep.

I really hope you can get your things back. I''m so sorry this happened.

Gypsy, I am so, so sorry to hear this. I can''t even comprehend the level of sadness and vulnerability you must feel. I am SO glad to hear you are moving to your new place this weekend, hopefully that will provide somewhat of a distraction.

ARGH, I am so sad and so upset for you. Something like that happened to us when we didn''t live in NA, and well, the cops didn''t give two hoots. I was going to suggest exactly what Meresal said: go to EVERY pawn shop in your city and neighboring cities. I guarantee you''ll find most of your jewelry there.
 
Oh wow, this is terrible. I''m glad you, John, and the babies are okay, but wow. I''m so sorry. I hope your stuff will turn up soon in pawn shops. I would go around and check them myself if I were you. Fingers crossed you''ll get your stuff back!

Oh Gypsy...I am so sorry. Someone robbed the apartment upstairs to us this Spring and it just feels like such a violation. I am very happy that you guys are moving out soon though.

I would think that your renter''s insurance should cover it. That''s what it''s for right? It would cover a stolen computer, this is really the same thing.
