After spending the entire first year of my marriage (anniv. Oct 3rd) doing 3 full fertility medication in-vitro fertilizations (pumping ovaries with eggs, surgical removal of eggs, adding sperm in a cup, growing embies in the lab then putting back into uterus for those who don''t know what it entails), meds making me sick and gaining 30lbs, spending 5 days in the hospital for kidney infection, 2 occassions of kidney stones, spending almost the entire summer with bronchitis and pneumonia we decided to put back 3 of the embryos on Nov 12th that we had in the freezer(they cryopreserved 30 embies for us during our cycles). I am finally
PREGNANT

Also, numbers are high so we might have more than one. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We too went through 2.5 years of treatment to become parents of a son and a daughter. As far as finding out the sex(s), we wanted to know the sex both times I was pregnant (used an ultrasound), and both times the doc got it WRONG!!!!

Talk about being surprised (and thrilled, of course).

Wow, modern medical science is truly a miricle. I have two friends that have healthy beautiful babies as a result of in-vitro. One of them has twins. A boy and a girl. Take care of yourself and enjoy every precious moment of your pregnancy! It''s a feeling you''ll always recal...long after the kids have been born and grown up!

Congratulations...!! I know exactly what you went thru. 10 yrs ago, I went thru the same thing except it was for others. I was a surrogate mom and a egg donor twice. I, too went thru every part of the process. I had to give myself the injections b/c i was single and preferred no one else was in the picture and thought i could do it all. (and i did). I learned so much about myself and my body and the experiene brought my closer to my parents. I have a new/better appreciation for them....
