Just wanted to introduce myself

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to introduce myself. I''ve been lurking for a couple of months and have decided to come out from hiding. Just for a little background, I have been with my boyfriend for a little over three years, and have been living together for two years. We have had several (ok so maybe I have exhausted the subject haha) conversations about marriage and our future together. Last month my stepdad helped my boyfrend get a really good job with awesome benefits (a huge deal to me because in the beginning the two of them realllly disliked each other and are now like father-son). Now that BF feels financially secure he is ready to make the next step and just needs to get some money together by selling one of his cars and then he will be buying a ring! He told me by the end of the year for sure, but of course I''m hoping for earlier Last night I apoligized for askign so much about it because i know i can be annoying/slightly nagging, but he said no neeed to apoligize and is just hapy that we are on the same page for an engagement! Anyways just wanted to say hi, you all seem so nice and supportive, and I wanted to be a part of the group!!

Sounds like you are well on your way to an engagement, and how great for your honey that he got a better job--financial security is so important always, but especially now with the economy like it is, I think. And how great that your stepdad helped him get the job! Do you plan on helping him with the purchase of the ring or not? Either way, PS is here to help!

The reason i stumbled upon this website is because he wanted a little bit of help with rings. We were both completely clueless, but now im a little less clueless

So he knows what I like, and I make it a point to stop into jewelry stores casually to show him my favorites just to keep his memory refreshed lol. But he has good taste, so whether he remembers or not I think I''ll get something I love.

With that being said, tell us about the ring you''re hoping for!!! I too am waiting and am not having much luck with the BF as far as knowing anything about it--which is driving me crazy! So I have some time yet to actually be engaged but am hoping for early fall...>...but we shall see.

Anyway, welcome again! Great bunch here.

My boyfriend will walk by and look over my shoulder and just shake his head and say are you on there again! He says it makes me more crazy hehe. I love reading everyones stories and keeping up with everything.

Well, ff used to tell me I was obsessed with rings, I''d say Im now not so much that but more obsessed with PS in general. Oh dear! lol Im sure its healthier for me this way anyhow.

Its amazing. I get to work at around 9AM and I swear I am on PS until I go home at 4PM! Much of the time I am in my office alone, so its no biggie. My boss knows the deal...we''ve talked about my obsession! hehehe.

Boyfriend is a little clueless...he just knows that I am looking at engagement-diamond-related stuff all the time. I am hoping that by him knowing I am researching, it will encourage him to do the same. Although I doubt it. I think his mother is going to help him with the whole process. Thankfully she has good taste...and a couple of whopper diamond rings to boot!
