Jews are consistently the most targeted community in the U.S.
FACT

Just adding that here if anyone didn't know that

And unfortunately it is not just Islamic terrorism but that is a big part of it

“The Jewish community is uniquely – uniquely – targeted by pretty much every terrorist organization across the spectrum,” said FBI Director Christopher Wray in testimony before Congress shortly after the October 7 attack."

The factions that want us all to hate each other.
They’re winning.
So now many of us are forced to live in fear here in the United States.
The Nazis haven’t gone away. They hate Semitic peoples. That includes Jews and our biblical half-brothers, Muslims.
There have been many instances in history where Jews and Muslims lived in peace.
I doubt we can find instances of Nazis - or white Supremisists living in peace with any non white people.
Here in the US the incidence of extreme right and left wing violence is far greater than Islamic related violence.
If only we could operate on Facts versus feelings….

Fear mongers lead people to Scapegoat.
I agree that a lot of what we’re seeing is reminiscent of 1930’s Germany.
I now have to live in fear for my own family.
I guess some of us have been living in fear of Islamic terrorists here in the USA for a long time.
Not me. I’ve felt so safe here in NYC for a lifetime. Till now. And it’s not Muslims that scare me.

The factions that want us all to hate each other.

I hate no one. No one is brainwashing me to hate others. I think for myself. And if I dislike someone there is (for me) good reason to and no terrorist organization or gveoernment action can brainwash me David.

I agree that a lot of what we’re seeing is reminiscent of 1930’s Germany.
I now have to live in fear for my own family.

Yes, unfortunately yes. There are many who want us all dead. Not just islamic terrorists. Though at this point in time they pose, IMO, the greatest threat. Right now. And not just for Jews. Remember we are always the "canary in the coal mine"

Hi,

I am astonished at some of the reaction here.
MReader--A professor at UCLA has advised international students who are now afraid that their visa or greencard will be taken away gives this advise. Do Not attend protest gatherings and keep a low profile. Seems like excellent advise and If you care about your friends I would give them the same advise. They have no free speech rights . You are not silencing them. Its is the law..

@The Ronald Reagen admin could not figure out how to remove 3 million illegal aliens from this country. They decided to offer amnesty. All acceptable to the citizenry. However this encouraged increased illegal immigration into this country. Each Admin has attempted to remove those illegally here. Obama removed more than any Pres. The garment industry in NY had many raids looking for illegals. No-one thought the US was falling apart.
Mass Deportations have been around a while. They did not start with DT. But Americans,(your co citizens) made their wishes known to stop the illegal immigration into this country.
There is nothing extraordinary about these actions. Due process must be followed. But you all talk about the Admin doing things, perhaps illegally. Please, 12 million people in the US Illegally is a security concern. Blame the people who are here illegally. Thats scary to me.

Be afraid, get your guns. Lets see where that goes. Anti-semitisism has been around awhile. In the 1940s and before the South and democrats were the offenders, and it was bad. Southern Democrats. The US is still standing.

Unpopular for now,
Annette

Googled:
"do immigrants have free speech rights in the us"
Answer:

These rights apply to everyone in the U.S., regardless of immigration status. However, courts are not consistent in vindicating the First Amendment rights of immigrants. People who are undocumented therefore should plan carefully, because they cannot rely on the courts to protect their First Amendment rights.Jan 24, 2025

The very essence of the First Amendment is to protect unpopular speech.
Green card holders are NOT considered "undocumented"
Notice the date. Before 2025, this wasn't a concern.
Of course @Mreader's advice is sound....immigrants can't fart without fear at this point in time.....
Once people are afraid to speak out, the first amendment becomes moot.

Yes, Obama was known as "Deporter in chief". What we're seeing now is markedly different and much more concerning.
Seems to me that a large percentage of citizens in the us have guns already.....and the majority of them on on the right.

Just curious...what bad experiences has anyone had personally with an immigrant?
I live in a city filled with Immigrants.....native NY'ers are generally much more rude, etc.....
Every day I work with immigrants- hard working honest people...

I have friends who are black. People of color. Tell them that Antisemitism is the worst prejudice around...they just laugh.
ALL RACISM SUCKS. No need to "rank" it.

All racism does indeed suck but of those you mentioned only one group is in the forefront at the moment targeted for extermination because they're Jewish.

The difference is, David, that racism against other races is often (not always ) dealt with when it comes to light. Racism against Jews is often ignored and Jews are gaslighted about it. Even by some Jews. Like you. Open your eyes

And as Matata wrote we are being targeted for extermination. Again. It went quiet for a while but it’s always brewing.

I have friends of all religions and races. One of my closest friend is an Iraqi Muslim. She is married to an Iranian Jew. If only all people could love each other without regard to race, religion, etc. They are an example to behold.

And she has never diminished what the Jews are going through. Unlike you David. Shame on you for gaslighting us.

FYI
There is new intel about a brewing terrorist attack here in the USA
Within the next three weeks
At a hospital in a mid tier city
Just the beginning

I think a lot of people need to open their eyes......
I've not "gaslit" anyone.....
No one loves Israel more than I or is more protective of it.
We definitely see things differently but that's not gaslighting.
Many people feel that using antisemitism to justify our loss of rights as gaslighting......
All my life I've felt that a strong democratic USA is Israel's best defense.
Many of my Israeli friends disagree. They feel they can take care of themselves...and they ARE on the front line......Maybe it's a different perspective, maybe pride.
As the US slides into...whatever it's sliding into, it will leave Israel undefended.
Heritage foundation's project 2025, calls for the elimination of aid to israel.
OPEN YOUR EYES

David you’re even gaslighting me about not gaslighting me. lol thanks for the laugh

Maybe be a bit more introspective about your behavior here. I don’t know you in real life even though we did meet many years back. Take a hard look at how you continuously deny there’s any issue about how Jews are being treated in our country. If you don’t see it I have nothing more to say to you. But it’s real. 100% real.

As just one example
Perhaps you think the behavior on college campuses is acceptable. Perhaps you think it’s ok to prevent Jewish students from attending classes.

Use your imagination. Let’s say a different minority was being targeted. I assure you the reaction would be completely different.

Unacceptable in both cases but in only one case was nothing being done by the past administration.

OK- how about this perspective: Do you actually believe these deportations are taking place to protect jews????
If so there are plenty of bridges for sale.
I never said there's no antisemitism.
I've been the victim of it.
I still strongly believe that the right to free speech- even if we disagree with that speech- is our greatest strength
This sort of division ain't helping. And as I've pointed out before, the forces of evil celebrate our disagreements.
Tremendously Sad @kenny

No I don’t. The deportations are being enacted to protect the AMERICAN people. Let them have due process but yes if they’re a threat (to the American people) may they be deported

9/11 2.0 is coming

But they aren’t getting due process which is what many of us in this thread are having issues with. It’s not happening - and that is dangerous. The DOJ is refusing to answer the judge's questions about details on the flights to El Salvador (because let's get real, they defied the order and I bet one of those planes left AFTER the order was issued). The doctor story - her lawyer showed officials the judge's order before her plane left - it was disregarded. Regarding Khalil - the feds are saying they sent him to Louisiana because the facility in NY had bedbugs - that is so laughable. Homan said he "didn't care what judges think". They are either stonewalling or outright admitting that they are defying the judicial system. The outlook is very bleak for America.

@Mreader unless they’re an immediate danger to the USA I believe due process is important.

... The outlook is very bleak for America.

Not according to the majority of its voters.
I assume those 77.3 million Americans are thrilled with America now.

They are thrilled with the deportations. Not so sure about other things like getting fired - you know some of those people were supporters. In some social media circles they aren't admitting regret, but it's crickets.

So are saying I’m not allowed to disagree with you?

Not in the least! You have every right to voice your opinion.
I like you. I'm lamenting the fact that what I perceive to be forces of evil are putting us in positions where we disagree with people we like and mostly agree with in general.
It just sucks and makes me sad.
I'm sorry

ETA...the issue is so....large in both our eyes. Not like we're talking about the color of a diamond.
I believe strongly that the deportations are part of something that makes us much less safe.
And I respect that you feel differently

Thanks David. I appreciate that.

It’s super frustrating and I also wish we were not experiencing this and that things were different

I have observed so much hate and it makes me ill.

I don’t know how it will play out but I still have hope. That’s the dreamer in me. It’s not totally dead. But it’s taken a beating

I hope we can continue to discuss and grow and I appreciate the opportunity to talk even when we don’t agree. Maybe even more so because we don’t agree. If that makes sense

This thread is a trip. Not a good one, either.

Amazing how two groups of voters made their decision based on what is happening in a place they don't even live, instead choosing that which is destroying our freedoms and processes where they do live.

I was reading about the deportations of Venezuelans without due process and how the are in El Salvador. So we paid to send them to a country they aren't from, lost track of them, and this is somehow protects us?!? This is bonkers. Arguing with judges? Threatening to impeach judges who disagree?

Don’t you understand that the USA is at risk? From the same group terrorizing Israel/Israelis?

That Israel is not their last attack. It’s only the beginning. The Jews are the golden canary in the coal mine. I’ll keep reminding you of that if necessary.

Terrorists infiltrated the USA decades ago. They’re playing the long game. And they’re doing a superb job.

So never assume you understand others motivations because you would likely be wrong

Constitutional crisis looming on the horizon. Head honcho has alienated most of our allies who are meeting now to determine how to protect themselves from Russia, China, and the US....and the US. There's talk of Canada and Europe forming their own alliance without the US....without the US. We have become the enemy to the North Atlantic Alliance in less than two months.

There is more than one faction playing the long game in the US and they are all at odds with each other. The one doing the most damage to us at the moment is our home grown oligarchs who have infiltrated all areas of the power structure in the country. Islamic terrorists can continue their war against the West and attack us to their hearts content but they are like annoying gnats and will be crushed under the heel of the boot of those who hold the Constitution in contempt and when that happens, Israel may be collateral damage.

I'm very hesitant to enter this thread, but for general info, Senator Chuck Schumer was on The View TV show today and while promoting his new book, "Antisemetism in America: A Warning," spoke about his historical and current opinions on the topic. The show will be available on YouTube tonight. That, and the book, might be of interest to some.

9/11 was not a minor attack. It was a tragedy of large magnitude and they won’t rest til they meet their goals.

Is it the only concern? Of course not

We shouldn’t worry about actual terrorists?
Respectfully I disagree

9/11 was a wake up call that we are not safe and we are not universally loved, something we forgot between Pearl Harbor and now.

Sure we should worry about terrorists, I didn't say we shouldn't. The fact that our country is being weakened from within by those we put in power and the ones they subsequently gave power to makes us vulnerable in many ways to different kinds of terrorism. Divide and conquer.

I witnessed 9/11...from my TV screen thankfully not in person.
If you can look at this critically- what was the result of 9/11?
Loss of personal freedoms- and the US getting involved in wars under false pretenses.
In the 24 years since, there haven't been waves of Islamic-inspired violence, in the US. We take care of all the violence we need right here at home. I'm sure we can find a few instances of Islamic inspired violence- but far more killing is done by US citizens. We all know what the number one killer of kids in this country is. Talk about terror.

If those in power can create enough of a scare about "terrorists" people will vote for that specific interest, while overlooking crucial deficits in the candidate.
Or trans people in sports.....don't look behind the curtain. Shiny objects.
I'll protect you from the Immigrant Boogeyman
A lot of things got us where we are but this divide and conquer works so well for the bad guys. I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd spend my "retirement" years watching this.
Another perspective: say both sides of this argument are terrified.
Some fear terrorists, while others fear our own government.
We're all sad. We can at least share that

Oh, one of the three planes definitely did.
March 15 between 6:45 p.m. and 6:48 p.m.
During the court hearing, the judge verbally tells Justice Department lawyers that they need to turn around any planes carrying anyone being deported under the Alien Enemies Act.
March 15 at 7:26 p.m.
The judge’s written order is posted to the online federal docket system known as PACER,
March 15, 7:37 p.m.: An airplane with the tail number N630VA, believed by activists to be carrying deportees, departs Harlingen. Government lawyers later say this plane held no one deported under the Alien Enemies Act.

Uhm, too late now.
His voters are still responsible for whatever the boss does to America.

There were zillions, trillions, gadgillions of red flags / warnings.
