I''m going to be visiting a friend in West Hollywood in March and I wanted to check out some salons while I''m down there. Any suggestions? I want to go to places that are different from any place I''d find in the Bay Area. I''m thinking Monique Lhuillier for sure, since the only time I can see her whole collection is during trunk shows.

R-Mine Couture looks promising, as there is going to be a Carolina Herrera trunk show while I''m in town. But they have really bad reviews on Yelp.com so I''m wary. Has anyone been there?

Also, I''m not super familiar with the LA area. I''m willing to drive around but I don''t want to stray too far from home base (friend''s apartment).

I thought their selection was just okay... but I was looking for non-poufy-ballgown-type dresses, which was the majority of their (or anyone else''s, for that matter) stock. One word of advice: do NOT give them your email address or mailing address (they''ll practically insist upon it). I have had the worst trouble getting OFF their mailing lists, even though I''ve told them multiple times that I already have a dress and therefore won''t make use of any trunk shows, etc. that they have. They''re not exactly respectful about their mailing lists.

Anyway, there was a thread a little while ago about this exact thing, I''ll see if I can find it. Have you done a search?

Here are a couple...
Help? Where to get a dress in So. Cal?
Southern California bridal salons?

I bought my dress at La Soie in Torrance (south of LAX). I LOVED the SA's there... they were just about my age, so it was like shopping with a couple of girlfriends

They were really friendly and honest, not pushy at all. However, that's quite a jaunt from WeHo!

P.S. We just (and when I say just, I mean this past weekend) moved to WeHo! Have fun in my neighborhood

Oh, I just remembered there's a Jenny Lee store near the Monique Lhuillier boutique, I'm pretty sure... if you like Jenny Lee stuff.

Also on north Robertson (between 3rd and Beverly) there are a couple of high-end boutiques. One is right next to the Ivy (you may recognize it from celeb rags, etc.). You'll be tempted to eat lunch there because it's right there, but don't... go across the street to the Newsroom. Much yummier

(and cheaper, too!)

Thanks Musey, thats really helpful!
