I had a pretty baguette cut diamond halo set with an antique asscher diamond..”Ashlee”…It was too blingy for me so I swapped it out and made another little stacker ring made with that diamond. I looked over a year to try to find a gemstone to fit in the setting…In desperation I started looking into doing it in a lab gemstone…David Klass found one that he cut to fit in the setting. It looks so good. The gem isn’t precision cut but it doesn’t matter to me. I absolute love it. I will wear it more now than when it had the diamond set in it. It looks like it has orange in it but it doesn’t have that tone…that I can see anyway..

Oh wow, it turned out so well! The sapphire looks perfect - I think this type of setting suits a coloured stone centre beautifully. I love the sapphire you chose & can’t wait for hand shots!

I posted these on another thread, but thought I'd share them here too. A 10x8 lab sapphire, and a pair of 5mm lab rubies, all from the fabulous Gary Braun at Finewater Gems. They will go into two pieces I have always dreamed of owning, but could never possibly spring the money for, if they were mined stones. This is addictive!

@Ally T more pics here! It's a 10x8 lab sapphire from Finewater Gems. The halo is made up of 4mm lab ideal cut diamonds, sourced and set in rose and white gold by DK. It's a chunky monkey!

It’s actually a YAG..Yttrium Aluminum Garnet. Calling it a blue garnet was just easier! When I purchased it I mistakenly thought it was a lab sapphire. Someone on this board gently told me I bought a YAG! It was on the listing but I didn’t know what that meant. I never even bothered to look it up. Blue garnets do come naturally in nature but they are really rare. They come in quite a few colors other than red.

Gary has neon yellow LuAG roughs if anyone is interested.

He is going to cut a square radiant LuAG for me next month, postponed as I spent the budget on the lab sugar loaf Emerald instead as he does not have another one of those.

Thank you @BoulderGal! I purchased the YAG from Stag&Finch..It’s the Sirius cut with rounded edges. The Sirius cut has pointed edges but I requested they be rounded. It’s 8mm. It was custom cut..
I’ll take photos on my hand when I get it. It’s coming tomorrow but I don’t know if I can do it if it comes too late..I’ll definitely tag you when I can do it..It may be Thursday. The cut and sparkle is just amazing in real life.
