I bought this Lab created Ruby ring that's set in silver, to have it reset into gold for my engagement ring.

Does this Lab created Ruby look good enough, quality wise to be used for engagement?

Of course.
Lab created rubies are exactly the same material as natural, from the earth rubies.
Ruby (Corundum) is well suited for an engagement ring being 9 on Mohos hardness scale.
There are a number of vendors who sell lab grown rubies in many shapes and carat weighs, if you don’t want to dismantle your ring.
Are you the intended recipient?
If not, it would be best to discuss with your partner about using lab grown ruby to avoid any upset later on.

Of course, and lab stones are often better colour and clarity compared with natural stones at a much affordable prices!

I have 3 lab rubies and they are great in terms of colour and clarity. Only set one of them so far.

As already mentioned by Bron357, if the ring is not for you personally, then it would be a good idea to discuss with the intended recipient about using a lab stone up front to avoid any unpleasantries.

DK :))

If you want really good lab grown rubies at 38$/carat, check jelly_labgemjewelry on instagram (I am not affiliated with but have purchased from them), they have good stuff in all sizes and shaped. The one you posted is really dark, in my opinion.
