Labor Day Weekend

Anyone have plans for the upcoming Labor Day (holiday!) weekend?
Any suspicions that the big question might be popped?

I''ll be heading to the mountains with the bf to go hiking.
And I''m positive the proposal won''t be coming (no ring!).

We''re going to NY State for the state fair and to visit the bfs family. Tj hs Friday off (i''ll be at work) so it''s a prime time to go pick up the ring. I told him last night that I was going to start doing a daily body search for "suspicious items". hehehe...So who knows, hopefully it''ll happen this weekend but if not, then oh well.

I had one of those moments where I thought it was highly possible. SO mentioned going up to York Beach, Maine (my ideal proposal spot) out of the blue and invited my father on a fishing trip the day before. Naturally, being the obsessed LIW I am, I immediately thought "ohhh this could be it. He''s going to ask for my hand the day before and propose in Maine the following day".

Then I calmed myself down a bit and realized getting myself all worked up thinking it could happen could mean disappointment and a terrible fall from cloud 9.

I''m so awful, I can tell you all this...in order to feel out the situation a bit, I sort of mentioned to my SO that maybe it wasn’t'' such a good time to head up to Maine financially speaking (we just had a huge party for about 50 people and spent a lot of money on all the food and drinks and we own a house together so the mortgage comes before anything else). I figured if this was The Weekend, he wouldn''t let me wiggle out of the plans because of finances. Well, wiggle I did and wiggle out of the plans is exactly what he let me do.

Although I felt very upset yesterday, I''m glad that I know now. There''s nothing worse than getting your hopes up only to be let down. I''d rather be let down in my office at work instead of at the beach where we are supposed to make happy memories only.

it''s a definite "no" in my camp.

i have a feeling it is going to be a definite "no" every evening and every weekend for at least a month or so. sigh.



but i hope come tuesday there are lots of engagement stories and hand shots!

Going up to My Cabin/his cabin ( they are on the same lake) but I KNOW there isnt any possible way it is this weekend.


BUT I did suggest ring shopping tonight...and he said, "I have a draft tonight" stupid fantasy football.....

Chels - Was a ring involved? If so, your SO wasn''t worried about losing the ring while hiking? My bf is so paranoid that he checks for his car keys every 5 mins - I can''t imagine how paranoid he''d be with a ring!

My SO is decided that opening day of hunting season is way more important than spending time with me so I am spending the weekend with my dad and little brothers here on the lake.

This weekend could be a possibility for me! I''m keeping my fingers crossed and trying not to get my hopes up, but I have considered this weekend to be an option for a couple of months now. My boyfriend called me while he was at work about 3 months ago and told me we were going to go up to Albuquerque, NM for a wine fest. It just so happens that 2 weeks ago I got an update that it we were 500 dollars shy of the ring total. So maybe? Seems to coincide just a little too well.

My FF is picking up the ring on Friday...hopefully with all of the prongs more symmetrical! We are going to a football game on Saturday (GO BUCKS!)

On Sunday, we will be in my hometown where FF plans to talk to my parents and show them the ring. I know that the proposal won''t happen until he gets the ring insured. I am a self-proclaimed klutz! At least one more step will be finished! YAAY! Plus, my parents love FF!! I hope that is a good omen!

Sadly, I''m certain that this weekend will not be it for us, as the ring isn''t supposed to be ready for two more weeks, at least.

I just posted this in its own thread, but I think FF got the ring today.

However, his candidacy exam (we''re grad students) is on Wed and he said before he wanted to wait until that was done. Soooooo, maybe this weekend if he just can''t help himself??

Early goose (canada goose) teal (blue and green wing *ducks*), and dove are coming in september 1st, BUTTTTTTTT since I''m moving to utah the 17th and we had been planning going camping that weekend. I think I talked him into going camping this weekend instead. At least for one night... SOOOOOO you never know. Events changed b/c the apartment my job puts me up in has a water problem now b/c of some construction next door so I''ll be spending the weekend with him instead since the fam cant come up.
