hey all,

I’m a long time beader and have owned and worked with lots of semi precious and previous stones, but never larimar.
I find it quite beautiful and would like to purchase some round beads in 7-9 mm AAA quality. I’ve checked out Etsy but they don’t have quite the quality I’m looking for, although I’ll keep checking. The online sites don’t carry round beads. Anyone know of a source? I’ve no idea how to use eBay, but would consider that. Any other ideas?

Do you have to buy online? Most jewelry stores that sell silver jewelry will have it. Also,a lot of random boutiques carry larimar. I got my ring and bracelet from a jewelry store that sold both gold and silver jewelry. My bracelet has a much finer piece of larimar than my ring. I bought my mom’s larimar ring in a boutique.

I found Larimar years ago in the Caribbean...... It has become much more popular and hawked and with that........the fake stuff has appeared. As you know, good Larimar is fashioned cabochon style and set in earrings, pendants, and rings. And of course, the origin/supply is so limited that the 'good' stuff is harder to find even though it is more popular. This vendor has some listed...........not sure of quality.

Edit: There are other price choices so check out vendor site. I just picked a picture of some on the high end to get the link.............better link: https://www.brcbeads.com/collections/larimar

I should add that my parents bought my larimar for me as a gift about 15 years ago. I’m not sure what the larimar market is like now, but I do still see it around. It was expensive for opaque cabachon jewelry. Think sugilite, maw sit sit, pietersite, sleeping beauty or Persian turquoise prices.

Hi again,

Thanks for responding.

Where I live in Canada, Larimar is nonexistent especially in round bead form. The links are helpful but i was hoping for more blue and the white veining (which will make it pricier of course).

Thank again - I’ll keep searching and let you know what I find.

I don't think I've ever seen turtle shell/cloud patterns in round beads which is the blue and white veining Larimar is known for. Come back and let us know if you find them!
