Well, I posted briefly about toying with an upgrade idea and ended up pulling the trigger. This ring is to celebrate 10 years of marriage, 2 births and my 40th so a good amount of “special” packed into one project
I ended up moving up in size from a 2.11ct I, VS2 BGD BLUE H&A Round to this 3.093ct J, VS2 BGD H&A Cushion.
New stone is here: https://www.briangavindiamonds.com/3.093-j-vs2-cushion-diamond-ags-c-104107285001
After looking at settings for hours and hours on end, I surprised myself and went with a custom two-tone Sholdt halo. I do not believe they’ve done this setting in two tone before but I liked the idea of having a hint of rose gold in with the platinum. We’ll see how it looks in person but swooning over the glamour shots!
This is my 4th setting as I seem to be unknowingly hard on my hands and tend to knock mele out like its my job. I almost went with a plain solitaire setting but was worried about the stone itself being too exposed. This setting holds the main diamond down low and is well protected which hopefully will give me a little peace of mind. Also no more mele on the band as in my previous settings.
I have yet to receive the ring itself but wanted to share my delight with the glamour shots somewhere and can’t exactly post this to social media! Lol. Thought you’d appreciate here. Will post more once I have it in hand
