Leon Mege string theory bands (2)

I am selling 2 Leon Mege string theory bands: 1 alternating sapphire and diamonds and 1 all sapphires. The bands are brand new and never been worn - they are too tight on my fingers. They are sized at 5.25 but I think they are a bit smaller IMO. I hate to let them go but I also hate them sitting in the box. All paperwork included.

I paid $2000 for one (alternating sapphire and diamond) and $1400 for the second (all sapphires) as a discount b/c the first one was tight but could not be returned. The invoices above reflect the correct amounts. Thank you for letting me know - I will go check.

I might have made a mistake, I thought you paid $2,000 for both! Please disregard my above comment they are gorgeous!

Hi TriciaKirk, so both bands are supposed to be size 5.25 but you think they are smaller? Do you have a mandrel? (I bought a cheap one years ago.) You say you got a discount on the second one because the first was too tight but then the second one was also too tight? I wonder if Leon’s rings run small. And are bath bands the same width…1.2mm? Thanks!

Hi - as you know - these were bench made so there is always variation. I can't speak if Leon's rings run small - these were my first purchase. I have always coveted the string theory bands since 2004 when I joined the forum so they have always been on my list to purchase.

To try and answer your questions - I do not wish to purchase a mandrel - all that I have reviewed seem to have large sizing variations so I think not worth the purchase. In trying on with other rings I have as well as printable online sizing guides - I think the rings are somewhere between a 4.75 and a 5. I could wear them but if my fingers swelled at all (like in the summer) I would be uncomfortable.

Both rings are supposed to be 1.2 but I think the all sapphire band appears to be a tad more narrow than the alternating one but could just be an optical illusion. I will post a picture on my hand (I have wanted to avoid posting hand pic b/c hands are so ugly .

Thanks for your reply, Tricia. I’m so sorry that they didn’t work for you and I can understand you not wanting to purchase a mandrel since they vary.

I was going to private message you on Loupetroop about them but I thought I’d ask here since others might also be wondering about the size. They are really lovely and your hands are nice! (I don’t post my hands online ever, lol.)

I’m afraid that the bands would be too small for me. Good luck with your sale…they are a good price for high quality bands!
