Let it all hangout -- The Grumpies, whinies, complainies Get It Off Your Chest Thread....

It’s so crazy that I happened to open this thread and find your post as I haven’t been here in several days, maybe longer. Just had a similar experience on PM. I sold a jacket for $700, it’s the Jealousy Moto Jacket from Free People. I disclosed that I wore it twice, I included clear pics, and noted that the piece is distressed. Anything over $500 has to go through PM authentication. It did, then it went on to the buyer, who turned around and said that it was clearly worn to death, had stitching coming apart, ink marks, and that I had PAINTED THE BUTTONS. Wtf?!

I priced it at what I paid bc posh takes 20%. I also disclosed it had been hanging in my closet for 2 years and only been worn out twice, and that the price was firm because I wasn’t really sure I wanted to sell it. I lost 50 lbs over the past 8 months, it’s way too big, and was oversized to begin with. She told posh that I shouldn’t be charging top dollar for a jacket I had clearly warn. I told posh to look up ANY description of any color of that jacket on any retailer selling them and she’d see they are intentionally distressed. I am so pissed off that someone would accuse me of painting the buttons—that’s what really got to me out of all of her remarks. Buyers remorse, much? I hope they just side with her and send it back to me. I’d rather keep it and start wearing it out of pure spite than let her have it now. Lol

Anyway, I wanted to commiserate with you! Scammers are out in full force these days. Someone else purchased one of my LV bags and now I’m thinking of cancelling the sale because she has no history on the site and I think it’s another scammer. I’m an ambassador now with a high rating and like 300+ successful sales from my own closet, I am not even a reseller. I’m close to shutting it down, like I really don’t need the hassle.

That is so weird that you've just had that experience. I am so sorry that happened, and I completely understand about wanting to cancel the LV bag purchase. To date I've had only good experiences with PM--they sided with me when someone wanted to return a pair of shoes because they did not fit, even though I posted measurements. Someone else wanted to return a NWT silk dress because the back zipper did not lie COMPLETELY flat, and they also refused to let her return it.

PS I love your Cavalier KC Spaniel photo--what a sweetie!

Glad to hear PM sided with you both times! Their email to me did say that they would be handling this directly with the buyer (although I can see all her messages of course) and they made it sound like at the most they would issue her a partial credit at their expense. Which is only fair given they already authenticated the item. Still, if I see her reselling that same jacket on PM or anywhere else I will be sorely tempted to buy it back out of sheer pettiness.

It was so nice of you to give that buyer a free item. I get some lowball offers sometimes and just immediately block the person. I’m not a haggler. If I don’t like the cost of any item I want from PM, I simply search for it for a better price and almost always find what I want within my budget. I’m not going to insult someone with a lowball—they’ll figure out when it’s not selling that they might need to come down if they really want to move it. There is SO MUCH stuff out there; I see listings all the time marked “rare,” and then I find 3 more of the same thing.

That’s Blanche! She’s a character. lol

HI:

Eggs I had in my fridge were on the salmonella recall list. Good thing I checked...had them out for carbonera today! I did eat two earlier this week.....fully cooked.

cheers--Sharon

This is a PS, first-world grump.

I was at a stop light yesterday where the sun was hitting my e-ring at a side angle, and the fire was amazing! HUGE chunks of red, green blue, violet, yellow (rainbow colors). I was driving so I couldn’t get photos—the color flashes were so big that my ring disappeared. Pulled into the parking lot and parked at what I thought was a similar angle to the sun. Nooope! Not even a trace of fire. Stink.

HI:

City property tax assessment: 65% increase. Can't make this shit up. Welcome to Canada.:(:naughty::errrr::nono:

not so cheery--Sharon

GRUMPY of the day (month, year)..I hate having DC (Dupuytren's contracture). The finger I had surgery on 14 weeks ago is swollen and painful and I cannot bend it fully. Part of this swelling might be wearing the brace almost 24/7 but not sure... the surgeon wants me to wear the brace as often as possible because it started contracting again a few weeks after surgery. But it is more swollen now than right after the surgery. I can't contact the surgeon because he is only in the office once a month (cutting back since he plans on retiring soon) and I am pretty sure there is nothing he can do. Going for my second round of radiation on both hands (right hand second round but left hand first round) end of February. I have had to change everything about the way I lift weights. And do other activities involving the hands. And it definitely affects my bling wearing on the hands...I know PSers can understand how unpleasant that is...I hate this stupid disease. Just needed to get that out. Thanks

Being injured and off work is honestly making me very bored, anxious, very antsy and very down. I can't do what I want to do, and I am not used to being sick or injured. I usually just power through any mild illness or injury. But this time I am afraid of making it worse. And it hurts. I can tolerate mild/moderate pain but it's a reminder that my injury doesn't seem to be getting better with the steroids.

I'll know next week if I need surgery. Kind of makes me realize that I have been lucky for many years, and I can't count on that in the future. Plus with the reduced activity I have cut my calories to maintenance level so I can't sit watching movies and eating buttered popcorn. Buttered popcorn sounds lovely right now.

Aww I'm sorry Lisa. If it makes you feel any better I will share my experience. I had surgery (pilon fracture 2014) and could not work out for 8 (!!!!) months. This is someone who works out daily. I do 10 miles a day on the treadmill and weights and cycling and hiking. Weather permitting. But always treadmill and weights. Anyway I thought for sure I was going to gain 50 lbs LOL. Well I didn't gain an ounce. My surgeon said it was because my body was burning fuel to heal. So hopefully you will have the same experience but hope your recovery is much quicker!! Wishing you a full and speedy recovery XO

Thanks Missy! 8 months is a long recovery time when you can't do your daily routine. Glad you healed well. Hopefully things will turn around. I know that just 5 pounds adds an extra 20 pounds of stress on my knee joint and I don't want that. Hubby brought home Sushi today which was very nice of him. :)

So I didn't do a thing yesterday and feeling some regret. There was a 1.14 carat OEC ring for sale on Ebay for $1500. It didn't last long and I had the chance to buy it. But it was no return and there were red flags. Blurry pictures were the first. The seller had great feedback except the one time he sold a ring and the buyer reported the stones were badly chipped. The third was the diamond was in a bezel and he had a jeweler look at it to determine it was 1.14 carat, L color and VVS1 clarity. The exact weight seemed suspicious.

The Ebay authentication process allows the diamond to be off in color and a VVS stone can be an SI2 and still pass. Would a chip make it an SI2 and would it pass?

I've changed my perspective on buying jewelry the last 2 years. Now I make sure I am picky and believe "buy once, cry once" is better than buying something just because it's a great deal or buying something because I am bored. The ring sold in an hour.

But.....I still feel some regret this morning.

Stolen photos and fraudulent listings on Ebay really get me grumpy. On the pre-loved section a new poster listed her beautiful lab diamond Cora ring. It's already listed on Ebay as a moissy ring with what I believe to be a picture stolen from her listing. I reported it.

Shoveled snow for 3 hrs today and rediscovered muscles I had forgotten about. Soooo tired but at least we can get out of our driveway in case of an emergency. Burned a lot of calories so my neighbor, who also shoveled for 3 hrs, and I decided we needed to reward ourselves with margaritas and enchiladas from the restaurant we can walk to from our houses so that's what we did.

DH said he couldn't help shovel because his back and leg were hurting but after I was done shoveling he put on his skis and went for a long ski from the house. Yes, that's how much snow we have. Thunder snow (whatever that is) and freezing rain predicted for tonight. DH is in the doghouse without a heated blanket for feigning injury and then going skiing.

Ugh I don’t like thunder snow. We’ve had it. It’s nuts. Essentially it’s a thunderstorm where snow falls as the primary precipitation instead of rain.

Oh @Matata, That’s quite a work out. I hope you aren’t in pain tomorrow. I’m guessing it was the heavy wet snow.

Now I’m craving guacamole.

Sounds awful. In spite of the treacherous roads and warnings from public officials for everyone to say home, the intrepid UPS drivers made 2 stops to my house yesterday and both were wearing shorts and short sleeve shirts in 27 degree weather.

You guessed correctly. Heavy wet snow on top of a 3 inch thick layer of ice. So much snow that I ran out of places to shovel it. Last time this happened was 20 yrs ago.

I'm sure I'll have some stiffness tomorrow and DH's penance for not helping shovel is to be at my beck and call whenever I need a massage which will be frequent and will not have the happy ending he'll be hoping for :P2

That wet snow is brutal to shovel. I’m sorry about your back @Matata. With the ice underneath you’re lucky you didn’t fall. We are getting ice tonight. Wait, do they have salt trucks where you live? They have been out all afternoon here preparing for tonight.

Hahaha it wouldn't be UPS if they weren't wearing shorts
Even my USPS person is now wearing long pants but UPS...nope :P2

Can you die from boredom? Probably not, sorry for being dramatic. So they want to do surgery on my knee. I really did it this time. Three ligaments torn, a damaged tendon and a surprising amount of cartilage damage. So all I did was load the car with food for my mama, and I slipped on the ice with one foot planted. I should have not tried to instinctively stay upright. If I would have fallen it would be so much better.

They are going to let me try a more conservative treatment, so a steroid shot, a hinged brace and physical therapy starts early next week. If that doesn't work it will be surgery. Healing thoughts and prayers welcome. :)

My little doggie (the one who can't tolerate anesthesia) has her torn ligament acting up again. She had a shock treatment last week and will get another one next week. It's not working as well as last time, she's limping, but her knee is stable and she's a happy girl at 13.5 years, We are commiserating together and she's getting a lot of collagen and krill treats. She's my rock. The little dog keeps trying to take me out. He just loves to jump on the back of my damaged knee. So cute.....and deadly. I love me a murderous Chiweenie.
