I’ve been sick since Monday morning after helping my DIL with the kiddos while my son was on a business trip. They gave me something potent. They of course sailed right through it and recovered in a few days. I had a fever..and headache…They’re gone but I can’t sleep..I’m coughing non-stop...My nose is dripping and hurts from testing myself for Covid every day since Monday. They have been negative but this supposed cold has been a dinger. If I didn’t hurt my nose from testing so much I would get a Covid test today..If I still have this through the weekend I’ll get a PCR..ugh

I got run down after flying home to see my Mom...I caught something also. All negative tests, and the scratchy throat was very short lived. I haven't had a cold in years!!! And I wear my mask everywhere--even in the house with other people!!

I wear my mask everywhere too...but I didn’t when I went to their house. We stayed over too. They go to preschool..The five year olds wears a mask at school..but the little guy is under two so he doesn’t. They we’re both sick when we got there but I couldn’t turn around and go home. My husband and I will definitely hesitate the next time we visit. I can take a little sniffle but this is not a little one.

I just paid $93 for 88 grams of sterling silver.
I laughed out loud like a hyena when the guy rang it up.....I didn't expect it to be so much.
This cost is almost double from a few years ago.

I’ve just got to vent for a second about when you’re selling something online and the person wants multiple videos from multiple angles. No problem! Take time out of my day to shoot some quality videos under different lighting sources, from all the angles, and then nothing back. Nada. Even if you’re not interested in purchasing the item, how difficult is it to simply thank the person for their time and effort? Gah!

Yes it's crazy. I was amazed when I got a quote for some silver bangles. Jeweler said the war (Russia and Ukraine) has driven price of both gold and Silver up

I can’t even imagine! I have two feather pillows in the family room that started coming out of the outside fabric..What a mess..The feathers stick to everything. Those were just two throw pillows. Are you able to repair it or are you going to replace it? I know you get the best bedding. Ouch!

WTF is wrong with people?!?! Why does death bring out the absolute worst in so many people. Big blow up today a few times. The two daughters are really at it. One is POA and doing her best to make sure my grandparents are cared for appropriately and they have all of their stuff that matters so much to them. The other has been slowly shoving their stuff to ever more inaccessible places and moving her stuff in. Big meltdown tears seemed staged as she got my grandmother all sympathetic and tried to say the other is shoving her out and doing bad stuff. This is NOT what either of my grandparents need right now!

Imo the stress of the big life events can tip people who are a little off anyway over the edge. So the ones who cause drama at Christmas can be expected go full crazy train over weddings and funerals. My advice is to hide out for at least a year. Sympathies to you.

I am planning to get a lighter weight duvet for the summer. I repaired the present one--I cannot get rid of it as it is too "valuable" to me!

It seems that many make-up product I've used and enjoyed are no longer available. Estee Lauder color lipstick, pressed powder, highlighters, and YSL mascara (color brush, etc). I liked my old formulas!!! Waaaaaa

I hate when they do that. I use Pureology hair smoothing serum. They stopped making it the original version. Now it’s some cream..It weighs down my hair… The original was the only thing that would tame my hair..

Another few know she is having one but haven't been told what the Dr is looking for so assume bladder infection or kidney stones or whatever. Grandma has been having pain deep in her bones and red blood cells in her urine. She also has a history of cancer plus strong family history. I hate the secrets but know it is best not to have everyone (and her) stressed out right now. Hoping for it to be nothing interesting and just a good Dr being thorough! Talk about quick though.... Saw Dr Thursday, ordered CT scan, scan scheduled for Monday.

I hope your grandma’s tests come out to be negative for anything serious.

Best friend is in maternity ward since Sunday and had a tough three days that lead up to a c section on wed.
She and DH caught COVID there and were tested positive thursday. She's alone and isolated and scared for her 3 day old in an isolation room now. Problems with her scar, so hardly able to move.

She's the most careful person I know, has always always been wearing her kn95. As do her children.

Her mom who's the primary car giver of her dad in chemo had to rush to help her with her 3 kids, because her nanny got sick and her au pair injured herself two weeks ago. Her mil refuses to help.
I stepped in and am going in to help her 1 hr a day in a full hazmat suit (I'm boostered and just had it w weeks ago. So I take that risk ) but MAN what a sh!tshow . They are the sweetest fam, always there for others. They don't deserve this!!

I don't suffer from Triaphilia (word challenge of the day PSers), but I do believe that the universe must remain in balance.

Three bad things that have happened in the past 10 days:

Outdoor GFCI plug into which new water feature was plugged went bad. Had the plug replaced but waterfall pump won't work, likely damaged when plug blew;

Had new windows installed last week; job was finished on Wednesday. On Thursday one of the windows cracked. Replacement ordered, it was a manufacturing issue;

Today we had the first good rain in months which is when I discovered we have yet another leak in the roof -- a bad one. Roofers came within an hour of my panicked call. We need a new roof.

That's 3 bad things, triaphilia be damned, and I think the universe owes me 3 good things to keep everything in balance and armageddon at bay.

I'm having Cadbury mini eggs and wine for lunch.
