Let's play a game... rainbow gems.

Thank you, @Autumn in New England and @Starstruck8 for your confidence that it is a chrysoberyl.
It sure does! Fabulous!! It has some of that milk and honey effect going on, which is highly coveted.

@Daisys and Diamonds It is very warm here, and watermelon would be appreciated.
@Starstruck8 that is a really juicy maw sit sit! I have a small faceted piece. It is quite fascinating.
you know somewhere out in the garage in a moving box is a polished slice of some gemstone that looks just like a watermelon ..... somewhere ?
Green: Maw sit sit.

This is found only northern Burma, in the same areas as jadeite. The green mineral is kosomochlor, sodium chromium clinopyroxene. The green colour comes from the chromium.

I've just bought this one, and I'm planning to set it is a simple yellow gold bezel ring.

Omg I am dying looking at all these pretties!! It is my dream to have all the colors at some point. Sometimes I pull my small collection out just to look at them. My husband calls me the “gem troll” (especially since I often ask for gems when he has a business task for me )

@Eli22 :appl:You can imagine how I felt at the exhibition. I spent three hours but couldn‘t finish looking at everything. I look at my own jewellery every day. It is like taking attendance:mrgreen2:Below are more pics fr the show.
Representing orange below is a coral and emerald necklace.
The yellow sapphire in the next pic is 29 ct, the blue is 35 ct. In the next pic the sapphire is 107 ct! Finally, there were lots of emeralds in sight.

Look at those emeralds!! Oh I must tag @Venus8 for this one. :appl:

I think @Crimson covered everything right down to the pinkish padparadschas with those incredible exhibition pieces (thank you for sharing them with us, my friend!). Oh how much fun it'd be for us all to explore a show like that together! For now, we have PS. :)

RED is up again!

Lol. I always treat it like I’m at the museum for such pieces since they are clearly not my price range. Lovely to see and admire of course. I was a bit disappointed at the number of vendors. Miss the Hong Kong shows.

Ok, shall go and look at mark attendance later haha.

so hello red
my favourite veg and one of my top fruits
and why they are not on my menu this week :(2

My husband was joking that with the way prices have been hiking tomatoes could easily become 15 euro per kilo come winter, but this is suddenly making it a lot more real...

Thanks, everyone liking the pics from the exhibition and letting me share them here.
Ohhh more pictures if you can, please. That orange coral emerald necklace is divine:kiss2:

Thank you so much for posting.
Thank you for the photos, Crimson!
@ChaiK and @Gloria27 you are most welcome! I shall post more, at ChaiK’s request.
i need to somehow become part of the super rich
that long glowy green thing is calling my name !
@Daisys and Diamonds yes, that chrysoberyl looks yummy and glowy.
OMG... that heart spinel is leaping out of the case with blinding fluorescence!! And those paraibas on the bottom row... I've never, ever seen such saturation. :eek2:
@Autumn in New England Yes, it was. Such a pretty shape too!

Look at those emeralds!! Oh I must tag @Venus8 for this one. :appl:
There were so many emeralds on display - and suites of them too. Makes me think Gemfields is ramping up production,. There were beautiful Columbian emeralds, too. Drool. I forgot to photograph them.

Yes, imagine that! We’d have a ball and might take over the place

@icy_jade you are right! At some parts, I felt as if I was at the Smithsonian or a natural history museum, except that i got to touch and feel the stuff. I an a newbie compared to you. I became interested in gems only 3 years ago. Such exhibitions are my chance to learn and test my knowledge. I cannot wait for Jewellery and Gem World in September, More than 1000 vendors are expected. I may take leave from work and just camp there.
For our PS friends, this is the event https://jgwsg.exhibitions.jewellery...=JGWSG22_IG_Register_Now?sor=JGWSG22_IG_Feed2

More pics from the exhibition, at the request of @ChaiK :mrgreen2:

i like this selection of coloured diamonds by Yoel Deil Diamonds..

These are by a Singapore based jeweller, Infiniti. They don’t have a store but collaborate with high end banks and private banks. They see customers by appointment and have a selection online. They made the enormous tanzanite jewellery pieces in my earliest post on the exhibition.

Infiniti also had a nice selection of men’s jewellery - lapel pins and cuff links.

These below are from Italian jeweller Massimo Rattieri Pretty and intricate designs

There were several jadeite vendors. This is an item that I considered but didn’t buy because I still prefer jadeite that has a fine and even texture. This is called ‘gold strands” jadeite because it seems to have strands in the body of the stone.9285CDCD-C561-41A3-B305-7AE8ED691FAF.jpeg

I didn’t see a lot of spinels. Below are some from Vietnam. The ring on the left (a bit slanted) was $35000. The cobalt ones were tiny and set on rock crystal or opal.11AAFBF6-B4D3-49CC-B3CF-46B444320C11.jpeg

The jewellery below is made in the traditional Peranakan style, by Foundation Jewellers. @Daisys and Diamonds and others on the Royal Jewels thread would recall that Foundation made a brooch that Singapore presented to Queen Elizabeth.
