oh, wow! that church looks beautiful! and, it''s so good to hear that you have scouted out all of the beach and near-beach sites in the area--cause that''s exactly what we would like to do, too. how exciting! i will definitely be pestering you as time goes on!

when is your wedding date?

oh reena. to post pics without uploading.. well there are two ways.. if you know any html code.. you can go to the html editor at the bottom of the screen and do it that way..

If not.. there is a little icon of a "picture" or painting on the top.. next to the smiley face and the horseshoe type thing.. Click on that.. you can put the link to the photo right in that screen.. where it says URL.. If you need to get the URL right click on a pic and click properties. the URL is toward the bottom, and you can just copy and paste

oh, okay. got it i think. does it take forever to "take" when you hit submit when you do that?

Oh yeah you can pull that off! no problem!! That would look stunning on you! A lightly padded push up and your set to go! lol As for the cost........I have no clue. But I wouldn''t be surprised if it was about $4000.00. Hey what do ya think of these
LTS- whats the designer for this one?! i like. the first one you posted, from the knot w/the spaghetti straps

reena, I have be collecting wedding ideas for over a year now. Don''t ask. I like to be prepared I guess. I became obsessed. I have like 20+ snapfish albums with pics. I like to keep them there, since it saves memory on my computer. So, I can always pull the HTML. If you like, I could share the album with you. Most of the dresses are ballgowns, I did become obsessed with lace sheaths as a second/reception dress, so I have a few.

This amy Michealson, spoke to me. I like it because it classic.

That gown is Oscar De la Renta = $6,600

OMG i love all of those--keep em coming!

im not set on lace or sheath, btw.

So.. I went to David''s today. Tried on a bunch of dresses. Didn''t take pics of me in them.. for several reasons. 1) I look horrendous cuz i have a nasty cold sore and haven''t showered today.. 2) I don''t want jeff to come across any pics of me in dresses.. and if they were on my digital or on my hard drive he would.

So here are some that I tried on.

04F_CT2406.jpg
This one is the only poofy dress that I found even remotely attractive.. the only one i have tried on so far. It is just not flattering to me, because I have small boobs.. so its like.. nothing on the top.. and then.. POOF!! It is a pretty dress though if anyone likes lace and it is EXTREMELY sparkly which you can''t see in this picture.

Also tried on this one..
04F_2681.jpg
This one was my favorite. It looks way better on me than it does on her. First of all, she must have on a full slip underneath it, because without the slip it is hardly poofy at all. Second of all, its too big for her so it does not show how the dress really fits.. This is the back

04F_GV8358.jpg
This one I posted above for Reena. I REALLY like the back. not so much the front on me. I thought it made me look sort of fat.

04F_GY8245.jpg
THis one was just awful..

04F_L8356.jpg
This one.. again.. back good, front bad.. just nothing going on on the front of this dress.

04F_T8404.jpg
This was pretty, but the halter was a little big in the boobs for me and it was a little plain.

There were two other styles that I tried on that are brand new.. and not in the catalog yet.. . One was similar to the last one, the halter one above, but it had spaghetti straps and the top was like a criscross so that it had two triangles for the top above the beading, which was a similar to the beading in the halter and then it had a train that was a sheer material with little sparkles all in it.. It was very pretty.

The other was an all over lace, very straight cut, halter style with I believe a v-neck. I liked the style of the dress a lot.. but the pattern of the actual lace was sort of ugly.

ah....such beautiful dresses!!!

MelissaSue, I also went to David''s to try on dresses my first time, and though I found some nice dresses...going to some of the other salons...the dresses they had were absolutely gorgeous! I went to one of the best salon''s in Orange County..yes "the OC" called MoniAmie and though they had the largest selection of dresses around...not to mention the best designers too..they also have the snootiest staff to boot! Have fun trying out dresses...I still want to go try on more even though I got mine already..but my dear fiancee thinks I am too wierd and wasting time.

JCJD...I''m getting hitched July 2005, so not far behind you....I got lucky with my bridesmaids dresses and found them on sale at the BCBG outlet. Actually...I should rephrase...my bridesmaids found them and bought them while I was at work. I had seen them before and loved them but wasn''t sure they would be the right color...but then all changed with the color scheme and now they are perfect and cheap too!

Off course a Reem is my dress of choice. I have been a few weddings where the bride wore this. Absolutely. If you are going for "I AM THE BRIDE" look, she makes the most exquisite dresses, off course, they are out of this world expensive.

Back detail

For sale:

"White satin poufy wedding dress, only worn once for 4 hours, long annoying train, very heavy, itchy sleeves, paid $500 new in 1991, will sacrifice for... say $29.95 plus shipping. Lipstick stain on sleeve and dirt on bottom only add to character, will throw in headpiece with yellowing tulle for only $1. If you don't mind being terribly out of fashion, this could be your bargain!!!"

Any takers????????

Melissa I agree I like your favorite the best also. It would be a nice strapped alternative to your other choices I believe.

Here are some others that interested me.

That''s awesome!! I have hope now that the dresses will work out somehow... The problem is my 2 college friends must be so busy that they can''t return my emails or call me, so I haven''t been able to ask them to be attendants yet! There''s no way I''m asking them over email if I can help it, but I might have to offer a huge hint- "C''mon girls! I can''t ask you to be my bridesmaids if you don''t call me!" LOL

What color did you end up with? I''m thinking some pastels cause it''s spring, but it''ll be an evening wedding, so navy blue or hunter green could be OK too I think. I''m going to let the girls pick the color (hopefully they''ll all pick the same one or 2 colors!!), so if they all really want to wear chartreuse or taupe dresses, they can go for it!

Melissa - I really like the first Davids dress you posted, the poufy one. It''s actually the only lacy dress that I like (we seem to have opposite dress tastes!) I''m hourglassy/peary, like Beyonce (not like Reeonce!!), so I like poufy ballgowns and A-lines on me way better than the sexy bride dresses. Although I really like this one from Davids too:

Except for it being white and with a train, this is just like that formal dress I talked about a while ago in Anxious, the black strapless with the huge side slit and sunburst beading pattern.

I''m going dress shopping for the first time this afternoon!! Yippee!!!!!

I tried this on, it was so beautiful... All wedding dresses are so pretty, such a hard decision!

I tried on a Carolina Herrera dress that looked exactly like this dress, but didn't have the ruffle at the top. It would have would have been so incredibly beautiful on a girl who had a smaller chest than I. This has a vaguely mermaid shape, which I think is so drop dead gorgeous... I want someone I know to wear it, since I can't!

Hey Reseacher -- is the the Neighborhood Church? We almost got married there but ended up at the La Venta Inn, also in PVE, because I really wanted an outdoor ceremony. I grew up in PV, and have been to weddings there. It is a wonderful place.

(Sorry to be off topic -- I'm one of those with an out of fashion dress -- but no big sleeves at least, so the browsing is fun! )
