What a wonderful thread, so many beautiful rings! I''m a bit biased but feel that the 2-3 carat range is the perfect size (especially for fancy shapes!), substantial and blingy enough but still elegant and practical. My ring has been all over PS but I figured I would add it, plus I have some new photos lol. It barely makes 2 carats, it''s a 2.12 cushion solitaire surrounded by about .24 micropave in platinum.

Finally getting around to posting some pics of my wife's 20th anniversary upgrade:
2.17/VS2/I BGD Center stone with 1.0 carat side stones. All H&A. One of the side stones is the original center diamond from her wedding ring which was recut by BGD. Lots of work involved to get this done, but it turned out very nicely!
