I'll take more pictures and post them when I can. I won't have the chance to do it till Wednesday. This picture was taken with the Iphone so obviously, it doesn't do the ring justice. The diamond is a K VS2 with AGS 0,0,0 proportions.

First off, I have to thank all of you fabulous pricescope bloggers! It is because of this website and the incredible insight its members provide that my fiance and I were able to find the perfect jeweler to create my engagement ring.

The center stone is 3.04 F SI1; the side stones are 1.06 G VS2 and 1.14 G VS2. Here is it...

Hello everyone! I am not the best PSer lately...two little kids does that to a girl! But, I wanted to share my upgrade. Some of you may know that I sold my OEC a couple months back in order to upgrade.

I purchased a 2.8ct OMC (M color SI2 clarity) from OWD and set it in a modified Sophie with pave setting by JBEG. I wanted a subtle split shank but I wanted that gorgeous basket too....I think it turned out perfect. I purchased the JBEG Katie band to go with it.

Oh and I'm a size 6.

the pictures are blurry, but you can definitely see the SBF in sunlight. I'm loving it... hopefully she does too!

More information on the purchase/fears/fluorescence in the following link:

Eventually I'll post proposal pictures. These pictures below are blurry, but that's the photographer's fault (me), not the stone's.

So happy! I pulled the trigger in time for Valentine's day. She has no idea. It's a 2.01 carat, I color, VS1 clarity, no flour, GIA XXX, 1.0 HCA FIREBALL . Seriously, when I saw this after 4 weeks of extensive searching, I was immediately in love. Clarity is outstanding, nearly a VVS2. Color is high I for sure, but the cut is so amazing it faces up like an F

Don't take my word for it. Here are some pictures taken with my godawful phone camera. Remember I am not a hand model.

Here is my new ER to replace the one that was stolen 8 years ago! It has taken me this long to decide on what to get

It is a 3.0 ct J VS1 AVC paired with 0.7ct bullets, setting designed by Victor Canera. Victor has been amazing to work with and I wanted to show it off.

I just got back from visiting Mr. Charles Carmona (thank you so much for your recommendation, ForteKitty!) in Los Angeles.. my his extensive resume is IMPRESSIVE!. He was so informative! So the verdict is in!

This is a 2am RL purchase that I could not let get away-- but, with that (time frame) territory, I knew I must have been nuts, so I turned to PS for advice and guidance. The seller was a antique dealer, not necessarily jewelry-focused. So my worries for the past half week are now laid to rest!

2.16 carat OEC, estimated to be cut from early 1930's (it's pattern and culet weren't like those from 1915-20).
I
SI1
8.1 (or 8.2.. I can't remember!)
medium culet

He showed me the ring under his scope, and explained to me that he would have graded it a VS2, but the cluster of crystals just so happened to be at an angle where it was reflected all over the diamond. If it had been just a mm away, it would have made the cut as a VS2. He told me it's hard to judge the color as it is set, but it is definitely not a J, so he's estimating an I. He confirmed the setting was made of platinum, and that it was in good shape. I managed to lose a 1 pointer during the weekend, and he found another diamond that was cracked in the setting. He found matches for me, and charged me $10 and sent me to San's Settings to get them replaced. It's now more beautiful than when I received it!

I'm just waiting to receive his appraisal in the mail, and then I'll get it insured!

Here are some photos that my beautiful friend Mommabear took for me when we met up the day I received this ring. She is something with the camera! My favorite of these is the one with a photo of myself, reflecting off the diamond. I would have never thought of anything like that! She's ridiculously creative

ETA: That little 'dink-ed' area we were worried about isn't a chip in the stone-- it's just the setting. He thinks it may have happened while it was being set back then with their "advanced" machinery. Of course, this isn't 100%, but since I don't think I'll reset it for a long time, I'm just happy to hear it doesn't appear to be damaged.

so.. without further ado.. here she is!

I have my 10 year upgrade!! First off, I want to offer a big thank you to all that post here in order to educate others on such important and emotional purchases. When I found Pricescope, I only knew I wanted a cushion, and didn't really know where to go from there. I got a great education and I am thrilled with the final product.

First up is the stone. I worked with Matt at GOG and he was extemely helpful and patient with me chaning my mind numerous times. I couldn't be happier with the service that I received and loved the lifetime policies attached to my stone. http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/8187/

From the inital contact with Victor, I was really ipressed by how easy it was to communicate with him by email. I flip flopped between 2 designs and he was so patient and easy to work with. My husband and I are completely blown away by the quality of the setting, and the style suits me perfectly.

Stats:
Antique style cushion
G VS2
8.10 x 8.08

The ring is a size 5.25, but I may have it sized down as it is a bit loose but I'm concerned with swelling in the summer heat. I do not intend to wear a band. I am attaching photos, but I apologize in advance for the quality. I have a new respect for the great photographers around here!

Back in December, I was lucky enough to have been able to get the original Burk. I had been wanting a lovely OEC for a while and could not pass up that opportunity. It took me a while to decide on a setting, but I ended up going to Single Stone and am very pleased with the final product--after tweaking the bezel a bit!

Had the stone graded by EGL while it was down in LA also, and it came out to be a 2.04 ct M color, VS1 stone. It has "poor" symmetry but I cannot tell with the bezel. I snapped these photos right after I ripped open the package at work, so it's the best I could do with my phone. Will do a better photoshoot later...

Single Stone was lovely to work with and I highly recommend them. They were very patient and wanted to make sure I was totally happy with the ring at the end. I was definitely nervous going into this project as I was not able to visit their store and try on a bunch of styles to figure out what I loved most. But now I know i made the right choice!!!

Emerald Cut
9.21 X 6.92 X 4.83mm
3.01 carat
Color: G
Clarity: VS2
Depth 69.8%
Polish: Very Good
Culet: None

My diamond is set in Platinum with two trapezoid cut diamonds weighing 0.42 ctw and two bullet cut diamonds weighing 0.30 ctw/
It was bought and set by an jeweler in Austin, TX. She is a family friend. Here are some old photos & not very good representation of the
beauty of the ring. I will take some outside later today. These were all taken inside and there is dark paint so it is reflecting.

I bought a very pretty 2.5 ct M SI1 last year and had it set into a temporary 6-prong solitaire setting. It is an older stone (not sure if it is a tranny) and has very chunky flashes. I just didn't like the way it looked in the plain setting (too much like a traditional ering) and it never sat flush with any band. After looking at all the beautiful halo settings here on PS, I decided to set it into a halo setting made by Gabriel and Company. The ring is 18k with .50 ctw of VS1/VS2 melee. My initial concern with the halo was how my M colour stone would look against the G/H colour of the stones in the halo. I think it turned out rather well. Sorry for the onslaught of photos to follow. Thanks for looking.

I'm so excited to share the latest addition to my jewelry collection. The stone is an absolutely gorgeous 2.82ct OEC purchased from JbEG. The color—O/P according to GIA—is so, so beautiful! Depending on the lighting, it ranges from a rich, creamy white to a pale yellow. It performs beautifully in even the most dead lighting conditions, with gorgeous contrast and bold flashes of color. I adore the faceting pattern.

The stone was purchased loose, and I knew I wanted to set it in rose gold to complement its warmth. Browsing eBay one day, I happened to come across a very pretty 8-prong rose gold setting with an awful synthetic in it. Although I didn't have the actual measurements of the CZ, the proportions looked about right so I took a chance and bought the setting, because it was a great price in any case, and if the diamond didn't fit I planned to use it for a colored stone down the line.

Wanting to work with a local jeweler that was sensitive to antique jewelry, I took my OEC and the setting to Adam at Old World Diamonds. He was certain his bench could set my stone, so I left it with him. During that visit, he also showed me a few of his larger antique stones... wow, does he have a great eye and some gorgeous baubles in his collection!

The following day, Adam emailed to tell me that all eight prongs would need work in order to safely set my stone, which understandably was an expensive repair and given the antique alloy, might not match perfectly. As an alternative, he offered to have his bench replicate the setting for a very reasonable price. I accepted the second option and two weeks later picked up this beauty! During that visit to his office (my fiancé joined me this time) Adam very graciously pulled out some more stones for us to ogle even though he knew we weren't buying. He also honored his original quote although the materials ended up costing more than expected. He was a delight to work with, very generous with his time, and even sent me home with a sample of his specially formulated jewelry cleaner. Overall an excellent experience, and I hope to work with him again soon!
