You mean metal? I think rose or yellow would be cool.

Yellow would give it a more superhero, Wonder Woman look. That's what I think of with that colour combo anyway. Rose is more muted but "different". That's a toughie

Yes, I did mean the metal color. If I were only considering the stones and not my skin tone, I'd set them in yellow gold without a doubt. There's something so classic about yellow gold. However, I realize I don't have that many rings in yellow gold so am considering white gold, maybe?

Wow I have never seen a blue and white daisy before. They are gorgeous. I want some... in addition to a gorgeous Paraiba type tourmaline of course.

So I was determined to stop buying gems until I set some I already have.

Two new future projects :

Bought a trapezoid zircon . I've been wanting a trapezoid so couldn't pass it up. Maybe I'll set it with the little indicolites from my "old stock" lol.


And I've been wanting a shield cut stone. But never dreamed it would be rosecut shield cut in a pinky purple sapphire! Couldn't say no to that either!



And dh asks "How many rings do you need?". Pshaw.

I ask myself the very same question. I am thankful for my bling ban to some degree. At least I can enjoy vicariously.

Progress Pics on my emerald + spinel ring that is inspired by older Victorian pearl cluster rings.

Were still not there yet but close!
There's a few changes that I made to this design but I'm going to leave them a surprise until it's finished!

I can't wait to see this one finished. I love those swirly shoulders (and let's face it, emerald + spinel isn't half bad too )

Just received word that my emerald & spinel three stone ring is ready to be shipped!



...and I am also getting ready to ship my 3 Paraiba ovals off to be set in a haloed three stone

I've got the second CAD for my dragonfly ring, and I think it's pretty cute. I am keeping my fingers crossed this one will get finished in November.

The colors in the CAD look a little jarring, but I 100% trust that it will look better once done with the real stones.

Ooh, I love this! You always create the cutest animal/insect designs.

Received my emerald & spinel ring from Daniel a week ago and have been too lazy to post. It's a simple 14k Y/G three stone setting with some milgrain / wheat engraving detail, but I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out!

Here are some handshots of the ring in overcast indoor lighting; it's honestly so hard to capture the glowiness of these stones, but just take my word that it's there even in low light. The Russian emerald is definitely more on the blueish side, especially compared to my Colombian emerald earrings, so I asked for the central head to be 14k to play up the green. It's so bright though & I seriously can't stop staring at it

I think the color looks the most vibrant against yellow gold.

I like white gold.

White gold will make it look more pink in the setting, yellow will make it seem more reddish toned. Up to you which you want to play on.

Thanks, they are a lot more vibrant IRL, however, the lighting did not do them and the Mali Garnet any favour.

I have a few stones coming, one an inexpensive umbalite from Jeff Davies, some Spinels from our own @arkieb1 and a concave tourm from Richard Homer.

There are currently 17 items on my spreadsheet for jewellery items to be made, a mixture of CS, lab CSs and Moissy etc., just waiting for a few more quotes to come in, before I make a decision on setting/making priorities.

I have a budget in mind, however, it does not stretch to having all 17 made this side of 2020!

The spreadsheet is needed to keep tracks of all the quotes received. Good job I get on well with the young gentleman who is my regular contact at the bench I use!

Wow so organized! I’m very impressed. I too have a number of stones to set and some that I’m starting to think may never be set.
