I'm looking for some russian demantoid melee on Instagram, does anyone have any experience with any of the sellers? Or any recommendations? I want to create a band to match with my chunky blue ziron ring so I bought some 2mm test stones - the 2mm were just too dainty so I'm thinking I'll need 2.5-3mm stones (which may end up being too expensive).

I really like them, even though some lean cool and some lean warm and different faceting styles. I got a few different sizes though.

I have been eyeing up the stones on YR Etsy store, but there is a stubborn streak in me that when I can only find one vendor selling something I go all out looking for alternatives. I love the sparkle of my zircon and thought the sparkle plus different kind of greenishness of the dematoids might compliment one another.

I don't know her Insta handle, but Tandi aka Desert Rose? She had listings on LT, and I bought demantoid from her via LT, but she's knowledgeable and can source you good ones. You might even be able to find her Insta account name of you search the LT listings, or if someone else here knows it and shares.

Hello, try this vendor, he is in the capital of the Ural mountains. https://www.instagram.com/p/CROEQ1DIT6o/ 2ctw, 3mm each. I got some assorted mele (10 pieces in all different diameters, bigger and smaller) from him that looked like this. IRL they were slightly less green (I don't mind, I wanted them for their crazy sparks). Most of the stones in my collection are from him, and were examined by a very respected gemologist/appraiser.

Thanks @Musia those are gorgeous green colours, the box of melee are the what I'm looking for, to compliment rather than compete with the zircon. I'm also messaging someone in Insta, I'll come back with their username and comments.

I recently started going out on a daily basis again for work and all of my "I'm over collecting and making jewelry" thoughts dissolved. I'm having so much fun switching it up every day! I'm excited about making things again.

Well, as it turned out, the measurements the ebay seller provided for the setting were way off. So, I ended up putting my brown and peach sapphires in this one. I am concerned about the ends of the marquise in a setting made for an oval, but it is cut really flat and was well-seated. I'm putting at least one of the blues in a vintage toi et moi setting next.

I was at Intergem looking for settings for some of my current gems, so what do I buy?

I could kick myself, but Vancegems (a highly reputable colored gem dealer and lapidary) had some old stock with great pricing. I got this deep bluish green Namibian demantoid of 2.4 carats for only $200. It has some inclusions, but nothing eye distracting. It’s so bluish irl, the photos can’t capture it. It’s even bluer than the 1.1 Namibian cushion I wear all the time. The color reminds me of the Dresden green diamond. The fire is incredible! I have to set it. I posted it below in top of an empty setting.
I also got this bright orange precision cut spessartite of 2.4 carats for $125. Not bad!!
