I never made a thread about it because I''m both lazy and pretty busy lately so haven''t done a photoshoot of my recent acquisitions.

The garnet is the 8.35 carat Umba that Gene was selling a couple of weeks ago. It''s a really dark, dramatic stone which I <3 a lot. I''m planning to have it set into a pendant for my wedding; it should go nicely with my red dress/black shoes look.

Here it is with all my other ongoing project stones.

What I''m doing with all of them:

Vermarine + diamond = bridesmaid pendant for sister #1, 14K white gold custom design through Julia Kay Taylor on etsy;

Citrine + diamond = bridesmaid pendant for sister #2, 14K yellow gold custom design through Julia Kay Taylor on etsy;

Portuguese round amethyst (which looks weirdly washed out in that photo and is much more intensely/evenly colored in person) = custom-designed pendant for FMIL in 18K yellow gold through Sally (Heart of Water Jewels) on etsy;

Opposed-bar oro verde citrine = custom-designed pendant for my mom in 18K yellow gold through Sally on etsy;

Matched pair of green tourmalines = earrings for me (might get diamonds to go with them, haven''t decided yet, so no firm design on that project)

Umba garnet = wedding pendant for me (again, no firm design on that one yet)

At some point I''ll put together a ginormous thread chronicling all my wedding-related gemstone projects, but it''ll have to wait until I''m less swamped.
