Diamondscope. This is just a first trial version so please be merciful.

We will develop and improve it as we go. It will include both educational and artistic/eye-candy and other interesting stuff. All community members should be able to send or upload the video files.


After a while we should make nominees for different categories and give our own "Oscars"

We're going to post more instructions/tips on how to make and submit movies...

The good news folks, is that, Leonid has read the editing manual to me and I know how to do it a bit better now.
It is amazingly easy using the microsoft standard XP software - but i am told that the adobe software lets you have more flexibility.

So c''mon - lets have some content.

Thanks! It is absolutely white and flowless CZ sample from the ideal-scope kit

We don''t have any reasonably sized diamonds on premises

All those movies were done as as samples and we learn on the run how to do it. Everyone can make movies now with your digital cameras or cell phones

Hey that is so easy (as an old hand at it now) - just dub the video with the movie maker in MS on your computer - or with software that probably came with your computer.

You can even use headphones plugged into your comupter microphone jack if you do not have a mike.

This is the interface - it is almost easy enough for me to use

Very cool! I think having the educational clips will be a HUUUUUGE help to many newbies! I know the idealscope one helped me. Ive only used one once and had no clue what i was looking for or if what i was doing was right... now i know!

Now, everyone get your cameras rolling. It is really very easy!

Camera

Most today's digital photo cameras and some mobile phones have movie-clip functionality. If your camera can produce a short AVI or MPEG format, that's all you need to get rolling!

However, if you want a better clip of diamonds or jewelry, you might need a camera with good macro-focus and manual-focus capabilities to get close zoom.

Editing

You can do editing yourself using e.g. Windows Movie Maker (comes with Windows XP SP2) or even more powerful Windows Media Encoder (all free tools). You'll be able to cut and glue the clips, add narrations, audio files, etc.

Then save it as WMV file 320x240 picture size.

Uploading

You can upload your original AVI or MPEG or WMV file directly at http://diamondscope.pricescope.com/upload.aspx (use your forum name and pass to login). The file size should be less than 16MB and you should have Cable/DSL or other fast connection.

We'll check your file and make it visible. If it is not optimized for the 320x240 px size, will do it no prob.


Video Contest

In a few months there will be nominations in different movie categories (e.g. jewelry, relationships and proposals, pets, arts, etc - depending on what movies will be submitted). Winners in each category will receive special awards.

Trade members will not be included into this contest. However, we can also have a special nomination for the best educational video - it can be done by anybody: consumers and experts.

Ok...I know I have been intermitten the last few weeks but I am lost. Is Diamondscope a video gallery? Are there any other features aside from the ability to add video clips? I really like the idea of adding videos! So far the site looks awesome! Can''t wait to see some new additions...hmmmm my creative juices are flowing!

yes it is a video gallery but it can be much more with educational and other stuff it all depends on how creative we can be
