LIW maybe only for a few more days... What to wear???

So.. I think this weekend is going to be the weekend.. way to many signs for it not to be!! So.. I want to be ready and look good! We are going to Tahoe and staying in a nice room with a spa and fireplace and FF booked a sunset dinner/dance cruise for Saturday night! He tells me the ring isn''t ready so it''s not going to happen for a couple months but he made it a point to go talk to my parents this week on Tuesday.. They gave him his blessing and are excited and now he keeps telling me he is ready he is just waiting on the ring! I don''t believe him! There has been many other things he has said that he has changed his stories about, he is not a good liar...

ANYWAYS, I want to look nice, but it''s going to be really cold out in Tahoe on the lake, maybe even snowing.. so here is the dress I picked up today. I would like opinions on if I should wear tights with high heels or tights with tall boots or tights with ankle boots.. what is the style?? Or do you even like the dress??

I like it! I''d do tights with tall boots, but I am not very fashionable. Maybe a wrap of some sort against the cold?

Oh! This is a beautiful dress! I would dress it with tights and tall boots and a great coat (for the dinner cruise). I love the cowlneck! And I send loads of dust your way!

Hey I have a similar dress except it''s white, but it''s sweater material also. I actually wore it with leggings (normally i HATE leggings ha but in this case) under and it kept me warm. I live in MI so it gets pretty cold here. I wore it with suede wedge boots that came up to just under my knees. Ha and sometimes a belt.. Any colored leggings might be cool looking! To spice it up

As for the dress, I really do think its looks great, and paired with leggings, boots, and possibly a shawl or sweater, I think it will be plenty warm.

Ohhh, cool dress! A sparkly diamond on your hand would be a great accessory!

I would actually wear pumps in a bright color, like red or yellow! It would add some spunk, so you''re not head to toe in black, know what I mean?

I do love the dress. I think the perfect thing about the little black dress, though, is the ability to highlight the right accessories and use them to play up its simplicity. I absolutely would not wear it as pictured with black tights and black boots . . . (oh sorry, I feel asleep for a second)

Instead, I like Iloveasschers13 suggestion of leggings if you are going to wear boots. I''ve seen some great ones in jewel tones this season. If you want to wear heels, I would go with a micro-fishnet and funky pumps. I was at DSW last week and they had a ton of tdf herringbone pumps that I am saving up to get myself. Keep us posted on what you choose.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! I still don''t know what I am going to wear! I tried on the dress last night for FF and he said I looked really good in it and he liked it... but I had this old dress in my closet that was just plain black with a V neck, plain nothing to exciting and sleeveless... well he said that he thought the "old" dress was way more sexier but this new dress was more practicle and it looked good too! Keep in mind my FF doesn''t have much, well he doesn''t have any style sense but I do know what he means a little, the other dress was more form fitting and this new dress was sweater material, which is in style! So.... I may go back and get this dress instead, What do you think???? I''m still keeping the one I bought cause I love it too!

Thanks Sunny D, I bought the first dress at Macy''s and it is INC International. The second dress is from Express.

What about this dress? I just bought it from Macy''s and I love it! It incorporates both elements you like (sweater with a little skin).

I am not a fan of the second dress--a little too plain, but you might be able to accessorize it to make it work. Please do NOT wear those jazzercise leggings they have under it if you get it. ugh.

Katamari - Thank you, and yes my FF and I were making fun of those ugly leggings underneath as well... I couldn''t pull those off, not my style! I like your dress, what brand is it? I didn''t see that one, cause I was looking for longer sleeves than the one I bought. I hate shopping when I just don''t have time and I am in a hurry, I never find what I want! I still may wear the first one!

my mom almost bought some the other day but i told her it was a bad idea, neither of us could have pulled the leggings look off
remember boots with the fur? mine are sitting in the back of my closet and my cat likes to play with the poms poms on them haha

It is Calvin Klein. I also saw it at Nordstrom--just for $25 more. I love the first dress a lot. It is classic but sassy. Perfect for a fiance!

I would pick the second dress with high boots --it''s much more form-fitting and flattering around the neck...you could always wear a cool scarf with it so you won''t get cold.
