Does he take offers on his rings? He has a ring I''m interested in with a BIN/Offer option, but when it appears he won''t budge from the BIN. Does anyone else have this issue? I don''t understand why he has this offer option attached to his listings if he won''t accept them. ?????

That is one of the more frustrating things about LOGR. He never seems to go down very much. On the last 3 rings I have put in offers and he came down $30, $11 and $8. That was it. Regardless it is still a good deal for the diamonds and gold...but still to me the best offer means more then 5% off.

I had that same experience with LOGR recently. They came down off of the BIN price by $4. We went back and forth but they never budged. I gave up on that ring but tried again on another. They did the same thing. I was totally shocked when they accepted my offer, it was my last one before I was giving up and it was at 10% off the BIN. I specified the size of the ring and the gold change and to my surprise I wasn''t charged extra like I was expecting to be for the changes, so maybe they are taking requested changes into account when considering your offer? I was growing quite frustrated with them.

On another note, I have also noticed that LOGR is now charging shipping on some of their auctions and I don''t believe they did before.

Good luck with your offer!

wow thats really strange, I just bought a LOGR ring. rose gold legacy with a pink tourmaline the price of the setting was 303.00 I offered 240.00 and they accepted. they didnt charge for the change in gold, but it was 77.00 for the stone. so maybe they accepted an offer because I had an extra charge for setting the tourmaline?

TL, I have purchased 6 rings from LOGR so far, and I used "Best Offer" for all of them. My offers ranged from 20% to 30% off the bin price. The only thing is that I customized all of them with upgrades on the diamonds and gold, so I always included the additional charges as a contingency with my offers. I''m guessing that the additional cost of customization helps recoup some of the loss.

For instance, if a ring is listed at $400, I''d offer $300 but with $200 worth of ugrades and labor fees. Even though it''s the same ring design, technically, it''s not the same ring because of the upgraded quality in gold/diamonds and modified head size/color.

I haven''t purchased a ring as is with "Best Offer" option yet, so I can''t tell you my experience. But with customized/upgraded purchases, they have been very accomodating.

PR,
He won''t budge on this ring even though I want to upgrade the gold and diamonds and do two tone and resize!! I''ve just about upgraded it to the tilt, and on top of that, I offered to buy it off ebay to save him ebay fees!!

TL, can you post a link of the ring? If you''re making tons of upgrades, I don''t see why he won''t budge.

Is this one of their higher-priced settings? It could also be the extra weight in gold and extra details in the setting.

Other than that, I''m just as confused as you are.

It''s strange because he just sent me a pdf catalog of all his items, and he said in it, if you buy off ebay, he can provide a better price. I think this is a mass email to all his clients, many of which are PS''ers I''m sure. However, no response on my inquiry as to why he won''t budge on the price of this particular setting.

Did anyone else get the pdf catalog?

PR,
I would love to post the link here, but I want it to be a surprise.

I''ve never tried a BIN on a complete ring but didn''t somebody buy a ruby ring from them? If I recall they did a BIN on that? I may be remembering incorrectly however.

I think I made an offer on the one setting I bought from LOGR (the 5mm pave setting for my roval Mali), but I don''t remember what it was. Sorry! I do remember that resizing from 6.5 to 6.75 was $10 (I hated to pay for 1/4 size, but I can''t wear a 6.5 because it won''t fit over my knuckle), and I didn''t upgrade the gold or diamonds. I didn''t get the catalog either.

Here''s the exact email I got from Stephen, and the links to the catalogues are included, but no pricing. It sounds like it''s more for tradespeople than people that use the settings for our own stones, like us!!

We have compiled catalog for our products, you can put your own logo on it and show it to your customers. Also you can order semi mount not through ebay, we can give you better price.
Please save the files in the following links:

Haha, TL, this must mean you''ve bought enough that you''re now considered trade!!

TL, you are my hero. I can''t browse ebay at work...now I can see all the settings without that! Also, I have been considering a couple of different LOGR options and wasn''t sure about how to use the Best Offer option. I appreciate all the comments from people''s experiences, though it does seem like it varies widely!

Actually, it''s nothing next to LaurenThePartier''s collection.

It is rather embarassing at the amount I have though.

Teeheee! Fair enough.

Just give me a hint. Have I seen this design before?

It will be great if they included pricing information.

I can't believe how many settings they have!

Dangit it won''t open for me!

I don''t think there is a method to what he will accept. Like others, I''ve gotten some for close to 15% off and others he would only go down $5- $10. I watch his closed auctions for quite some time before I put in BIN offers and sometimes a price he accepted for a setting just a week ago he will not accept again. I honestly think he does them all on a whim!

I think it just depends. I like to send emails to him before I bid. Could he also have someone else there that he works with? Sometimes response to questions are totally different.

Sometimes I just ask whats the lowest they''ll accept, then I know if I want to go for it or not.

I did that Arcadian. In fact I rarely bid, I always buy off ebay in the hopes it will save him fees and I''ll get a better price. Still, he won''t budge on the BIN price. I might just make an offer on the BIN and see what happens.

wow..

maybe they''re not budging on it because the profit margins are a lot slimmer based on raw material costs.

I know you don''t wanna tell what it is

, but considering I know your taste pretty well, its no doubt spectacular.

Oh you are so sweet Arcadian. I often think people dislike my taste in settings (and they do no doubt- LOL!!), but it''s nice to hear that from someone I also think has wonderful taste in settings and gems!!

Hi Does anyone have any experience of buying from LOGR and having their ring appraised at a higher value than they originally paid? I have purchased an eternity/wedding band with 1.88 carats of diamonds Baguette and Round cut in 14k white gold for a bid of $560 and think i have a good deal, although it hasn''t arrived yet. I live in the UK and will be having it appraised soon.

Appraisals will always tend towards the over-inflated, so take that for what it''s worth.

However, I did have my bezel set eternity band come back at a slightly higher ct. weight (1.15 ct.) and a MUCH higher appraisal than I paid. I paid around $125 for the eternity band on a largely ignored auction (which is how I got it so cheap), which he now BINs for somewhere in the $500 range, and the appraisal came back at $1,800. I asked my appraiser to be very conservative, as well.

I''ve also had my elongated cushion spinel set in my custom LOGR Legacy, and it came back as appraised at $1,900 vs. the $390 total I spent on the ring and spinel. Again, I asked him to be conservative, and I was shocked at that one. Both have been added to my insurance for replacement value and not appraised value to keep my premiums lower.

The moral; you get what you pay for, but if the ultimate goal is to insure it for more than it''s worth, than you won''t be disappointed with the cost:value of these LOGR settings and bands.

hi i recieved my ring and although its lovely the daimonds appear much smaller than what i thought from the photos. the sizing is also wrong. still to have it appraised though.

thanks

I''ve been round and round with him on the bezel eternity band b/c i LOVE it! but he won''t budge on the price

Maybe next year...
