LOGR Setting

I received this setting yesterday. I know there were others that were interested in it so here's a quick review:

1. It's much much much lighter and more delicate than the pictures suggest.
2. It's very flattering on the hand and a nice size.
3. It's made for a 6x4 but I have a true 6x4 and it will almost touch the sides. So I'm guessing a smaller stone would also work.
3. However, the diamonds MUST be upgraded.

I didn't have time to upgrade and in all honesty the diamonds are only just (really only just) on the acceptable limit. If I had more time, I'd be returning it and getting another but I don't have that luxury with this setting unfortunately.

Thank you, LD! VERY pretty! It's too bad that you're in such a hurry; it's such a nice setting, I can only imagine that it would look amazing with the upgraded diamonds. I can understand being in a rush, though!

Thanks for coming back with your opinion on the setting. I was hoping I might be able to squeeze a 7x5 mm stone into it but it sounds like that’s impossible if it’s a tight fit even for a 6x4 mm stone.

Actually, having got it back out of it's box, it's decision made in that it's got to go back for upgraded diamonds. I love the setting but the diamonds are awful The Spinel is a 6 x 4 so you can see that a larger stone won't work.

Edit: Oooops sorry. My stone is actually 6.6 x 5.4 x 3.7 mm so a 7 x 5 might work!

Do you feel you have to upgrade always the diamonds with LOGR? I have bougth two rings and have asked for 18k gold and my size, so I ended up paying 200$ over the initial price. I hope the diamonds will be beautiful !

I wanted to know IRL how is the quality without having to upgrade the diamonds, as I have already bougth form lan.bo4 and would like to compare.
I have spent more than 800$ with LOGR, I hope his diamons will be ok!, I am afraid, do you think I need to upgrade them for sure? That would be around 500$ more ( I think he charges 299$ for each carat of upgraded diamonds). It is quite a difference in price...

Aoife - you're more than welcome. Thank you for prompting me to get it out of the box and make a decision and not care about the timing!

Newbaglover - my experience is that overall lanbo4's diamonds are generally much nicer than LOGR diamonds. I've had some very nice pieces from lanbo and have never had to upgrade the diamonds and they've been sensational. A picture of my triple setting from them is below and this is their normal (not upgraded) setting. On the other hand, this week, I sent back a setting to lanbo because the diamonds were dreadful BUT this was in a much cheaper ring.

With LOGR I've had mixed success. For example, I haven't upgraded in some and had lovely rings but in others the diamonds have been dreadful and should have been upgraded. I've only upgraded with LOGR a number of times (purely because it is much more costly than buying a lanbo) but each time I've been very pleased with the diamonds.

Unfortunately there's no way to be certain other than upgrade with LOGR and upgrade the lower priced rings with lanbo.

I can't get enough pink! That spinel looks awesome in that setting!
