hi!
35.gif

It''s been a while since I''ve checked in. Missed chatting with everyone!

Well, I finally have 3 of the 2006 weddings over with. Now I can concentrate on mine! I''ve been able to book a lot of the major stuff. My biggest problem has been a dress for me. I''m looking for dresses that are warm in the winter. Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

What about a heavier silk with a bolero of some type? I have seen gorgeous brocade ones with white fur trim (and if you are not a fur person at all, I have seen without...) They look amazing when the dress is a bit more simple and classic...

Where are you getting married? Keep in mind the heat will likely be on and when all the bodies are in the room it could get warm too..

The weather is so iffy that time of year. It could snow or it could be 70 degrees. You never know!

what is the venue itself like? I live in Philadelphia so I know it can be tricky, which is why a bolero could do the trick, if it is warm and you have a heavy dress on and you sweat...yuck...

Hmmmm...Probably could get warm. We're thinking of an evening wedding with lots of candles (not totally sure yet). We'll probably be indoors for most of the wedding and reception.

Sounds pretty! Also, what about dresses with a light wrap or jacket?

Could be gorgeous, and then it can come off when you want to remove it. I have seen gorgeous ones with little shrug type tops, that are beaded etc, and it is delicate yet covered up, and can be taken off when need be...

Hey BuenaGirl - I was just wondering the other day where you''d disappeared to!

I love the idea of a dress paired with a jacket or wrap, rather than a ''warmer'' dress because personally, I absolutely cannot stand to be hot when I''m all dressed up. My friends have the mistaken idea that I do not like summer - when in fact I love summer but I hate getting all dressed up in the summer! But I also tend to get cold easily when indoors so I''m constantly carrying around a sweatshirt even in 100 degree weather.

Anyhow, all that is to agree that a little wrap would be so handy - if it''s warm, you don''t have to wear it and no worries about getting too hot/sweaty/gross. If it''s cold, then you''ve got something to insulate you somewhat.

I was looking for hair accessories the other day and came across these - some of them so cute I wish I were getting married in winter - especially the first one - so cute!! I think these are all available in white or ivory.

Okay, so this one may not provide much warmth, but I like the idea:
