Hello Beautiful Brides!

I''m MOH for my best friend (who''s wedding on a very tight budget) and tomorrow we''re going to practice bridal makeup.

My friend never wears makeup so this is very new for her. I have a bit of basic experience , but would like some additional instruction.

Are there any realy good step by step type makeup sites?

Last week, she picked out a look and we went makeup shopping. We stopped at the clinique counter and the SA did the nicest eyeshadow pattern.

Getting the eyeshadow and the blush just right are my two biggest concerns.

If you can offer any suggestions they would be appreciated!

Thank you in advance,

HD

If you go on youtube and search probably for "wedding day makeup" you should find some videos on how to apply make up and colors that would probably look good. There''s a lot of makeup artists that post a lot of videos on various kinds of looks with makeup so I''m sure you''ll find a good one that helps you. I hope that helps, good luck.

There is one subscriber on YouTube and I think she is called "makeupByTiffanyD" or something like that. She has a lot of different looks (including bridal) so I watched them all, then made my own sort of look.

Also, I went to MAC to buy some of the high quality products she uses, and they helped with some color choices. They will also refund/exchange anything up to 30 days after purchase, which I did a few times

, so if you aren''t happy, you aren''t stuck with the stuff!

Thanks for your help Pinkstars and Izzy03,

I hadn''t even considered youtube!

I mostly looked at the knot and ehow with dubious results.

Re MAC: We live in a buttfuzz nowhere small town, so Clinique is as upscale as it gets

(MY BFF saw the $77 pricetag for foundation and powder and nearly died - she got her wedding dress at a consignment shop for about $100)

I''ll let you know how it goes today :)

Cheers,

Hi again,

The makeup trial went well - I used lots of great youtube tips for the eyes.

The foundation was an unexpected problem though. I used a brush like all the pros seemed to be doing, but it went on way too thick.
I''m going to try makeup sponges for the next trial - I hope it will help.

I may have to spring for the realy expensive foundation !

Thanks again,

HD

If you can make a trip to a MAC counter SOMEWHERE in the area I would really recommend it! You and your FI could make a nice overnight trip out of it! Also, some Macy''s stores have a small MAC counter in them too!

I think I paid about 25 for foundation and 15 for concealer so the price sounds better than Clinique, and MAC makeup is made for photography!

Either way I''m sure you will look great. It took me a few tries to get the foundation looking as good as when the chick at the MAC counter applied it....so PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!
