Looking for advice on a setting

So, my bf proposed to me today, so he’s now my fiancé lol. The stone he chose is beautiful, exactly the color sapphire I was after (kind of an icy lemonade), but I’m not in love with the setting. He’s cool with having it set in something else, but I’d like some experienced thoughts. I have a preference, but I’m afraid the setting I like will keep light from coming in and making the stone appear dark. Can someone please tell me their thoughts? Thank you all so much

either way for a natural sapphire I would surely go with a setting that makes the center gemstone

I think the style of setting you're into will still let light in from the sides, so it shouldn't really diminish your sapphire. However, please make sure the setting fits your more elongated cushion cut, because the example setting you showed looked like it holds a square cushion cut or a round.
