Hi all,

Looking for a lavender spinel in emerald or cushion cut (no ovals or round, please!), at least 6-7 mm but bigger the better!

@T L I really admire your amazing spinel, and would love to find something close to its amazing colors!

@T L‘s spinel (posted on another post, hope its ok I share the photo so folks can see what I’m talking about, it’s so gorgeous!):

@AV_ @Crazie4Cuts @chrono @2Neezers Thank you all for taking the time to help me look!

I think I’ll narrow the cut down more: I think I really want a chunky cushion cut (almost like a old miner’s cut) if possible.

Also, I like BIG stones. I’m looking for something more like a 3 carat or more if it’s even possible to find spinels in those big sizes anymore.

Assuming if you are in the USA, If something at CaratZone catches your eye, try contacting JimMccormick. Maybe he’ll be a go between for you.

@Rfisher Thanks for the suggestion!

@lovedogs Thanks very much! I like the size, but looking for a bit more pink to the color, and maybe a wee bit brighter.

What’s your max budget? How saturated do you want it? Does it have to be spinel or are you open to sapphire?

Thank you! It color shifts from pink to lavender. In that photo, it’s a mixture of those colors in a mixed light setting. There are also some negative crystal inclusions in that close up shot. Good luck on your sourcing one.

@NKOTB hi there! Budget of $4-5k, does not need to be saturated but I would like a “shifty” stone (ie shades of pink and purple) and not a one toned stone, and a chunky cut (no precision cuts). Doesn’t have to be spinel although I think harder to get a sapphire in the 3+ carat range given my budget.

@qubitasaurus Thank you! I’ll send an email and see.

@Gummybear Thank you! I really love the color, I will inquire re price.

@T L Thanks for stopping by! I really admire your spinel—I think it had a lot of character in the cutting, and the dappled colors remind me of a kaleidoscopic effect, really unique! Hope I can find something like it!
