LS, I''m just seeing this, but I wanted to add my love, dust and prayers to the stream already headed your way. My pugs suggested that photos of baby pugs, gloriously rolly, might help cheer you up, but I see gecko''s beaten me to the punch. But what''s another puppy photo?

I just got a call from my doctor's office. They have bumped my appointment to Thursday.

Well I went looking to see how your appointment went today and I am not pleased that they did this to you! What are they doing that is more important than seeing you?

My dad just called me. Turns out, he's best friends with the partner (in a medical facility) of the director of the hospital where I need to see the neurosurgeon.

As some of you may know, I've been on a waiting list for 2 weeks. Called them again today and no openings yet....

So my DADDY called his buddy. His doctor-friend wants my details. Who knows, maybe he golfs with the guy I need to see and he can snag me an appointment. Thanks Daddy.

I am becoming more and more shameless in my efforts to get this dealt with (thank you Ellen! Got my big girl panties on).

The Monster continues his efforts to kill my spirit. So far, it's Lost Sapphire 1, Monster 0.

I see. She was going to give you some pain medicine to tide you over, and now you must wait until Thursday...but not because anything more important than you came up! I guess that is forgiveable!

I kind of sighed and thought, ok. She''s probably quite sick, to cancel out her appts. I know her quite well so I''m cutting her some slack. Come Thursday though, I''m gonna need some heavy duty meds it this current flare up continues.

My GP is a flake. I showed up at her office this morning in pain like I''ve never had before, and she said she didn''t feel comfortable messing with my meds..THEN SHOOT ME UP ALREADY OR SOMETHING!

ok, fair enough. Referral to a Neurologist for medication transition to something else. Whatever. Can you tell I''m cranky today?

Also, it looks like there will be another hole made in my head: apparently I''ve been referred to this other neurosurgeon with an ''atypical case of trigeminal neuralgia'' requiring surgical intervention based on the severity, duration and # of episodes (ie: 1 a year, for the past 3.5 years, lasting 6-7 months an episode, at an excruciating pain level = H.E.L.L.)

That does NOT mean that we will think of expressions of pain, loneliness, self-disgust, etc. as losing to the monster, we''ll just hug them right out of you. And then send in the puppies and kitties. And beautiful things like Jeff White''s new gem post.

So I just had to tell sweet DH that it looks like we're going into another neurosurgery.

No spouse should have to take care of someone AGAIN after somebody makes a hole in one's head.

HE says that the pain is becoming so debilitating, he sees the sense of getting this FIXED once and for all. And he'll glady take care of me. What a sweetheart.

OH LS, I am so sorry. I am sure your wonderful husband doesn''t mind at all taking care of you. He knows that if it was reversed, you would take care of him.

I do hope, once and for all after surgery this awful pain will go away.
