I''m continually amazed and angered that no one can provide you with some good pain relief!

I''m so sorry for what you''re going through! On a more positive note, you''re lucky to have such a sweet husband to make this whole thing just a tad bit easier. I''m sure he''s happy to take care of you once again if it gets down to the bottom of this problem!

Hey stupid monster! Go away and leave sweet Lost Sapphire alone.

Hugs to you lady.

I hope the surgery gets rid of your pain forever. Your DH is a sweetie and I am sure he doesn''t mind being there to take care of you at all.

You are in my thoughts and mega get well dust

coming your way.

((((((hugs)))))) LS.

I have to say your tone in your posts make me chuckle, your pretty darn funny. For a second I almost forget I am reading the words of someone in severe pain. How you have the strength to endure that, and be witty about it is beyond me! You are truly an inspiration and I hope things start looking up for you soon!

LS, sorry I''m so late to this thread

I hate that you''re in so much pain and dealing with such a relentless monster

My thoughts and prayers are with you!

You are truly an inspiration LS. I hope this referral is the solution and in the mean time you get as much relief as you can.

Your DH sounds like an amazing man. You are BOTH lucky.

LS, I've been through the posts, it looks like another surgery, but when??? And WHEN do you get to the doc with the meds in the meantime?? If you need someone to call and get things rolling, give me phone numbers and I am ON it. I'm furious at how this has been handled.

{{{hugs}}}

I haven''t posted in this thread until now because I just didn''t know what to say. I decided even if I didn''t know the exact words to use, I could tell you that you''re in my thoughts and prayers and I truly wish for your pain to end.

A couple months ago my brother sent me a link to this video called "Finding Joy" that is very inspirational. It may not stop the pain of this monster you''re fighting, but hopefully it''ll lift your heart and make it more bearable. Here''s one of the quotes that really struck a chord with me and your situation.

"Courage does not always roar. Sometimes it is a quiet voice at the end of the day saying.... ''I''ll try again tomorrow.''" -- Mary Ann Radmacher

Your courage and strength is admirable LS. Please keep fighting the fight and we''ll keep being here to pick you up should you need us.

God Bless!

Sending more positive thoughts LS. Hopefully they can get the ball rolling for you supa fast!

Thinking of you this morning LS and sending you a big hug.

Love, Linda

More (((hugs))) to you LS!

Just read a few pages of this thread. Sending my thoughts out to you LS and hoping the monster stays away!!

thoughts and prayers continue

Hello, sweetheart, I hope you are faring well today!

That royally SUCKS about the lack of sufficient pain meds and the probable upcoming surgery. Here''s hoping for some good news and much less pain for you, sweetness! I am so sorry you are going through this. Stay strong!

Thinking of you today and hoping you aren''t having a bad day.

Me, too, LS.

Hello all.

Thank you again for your kindness. I too, am frustrated with my doctor insofar as pain meds are concerned. We discussed it again today, and she has provided me with the neurosurgeon's report. He describes this as a severe, atypical trigeminal neuralgia. So she is rather concerned to not muck around too much with my meds. Frankly, I think she's intimidated by all of this. FINE then just shoot me up with something then!!!

I've been referred to a neurologist in the meantime to see what he can do as far as pain control (so another wait but I'm working on that, got my big-girl panties on and am calling daily, thanks Ellen).

Until that happens she's given me some oxy-codone HCL..ew ew ew I'm scared of this stuff. But she did say that with this type of severe nerve pain there is not much that really touches it. She wasn't optimistic that it would do much.

Anyhow I took 2 tablets as described 2-1/2 hours ago. Big whup. So I guess there's no chance of this girlie getting addicted to them: they don't work for me except to cause some wooziness.

So I'm off to bed with my furkids to dream of puppies and faieries. And oh yeah, Anderson Cooper in swim trunks on CNN tonight racing against Michael Phelps! woo woo

Nighty Night.

LS

What's the score today? Well, it WAS Monster 2, LS 0. I believe we're now at:

Monster 2
LS 0
Oxy-Codone 0

ETA: nice PAD Linda.

LS,
Your pain has to be managed plain and simple. To let you go on and suffer is beyond me. I would hate to see anyone suffer, I saw my grandfather suffer way back when. You have to have GOOD pain management, perhaps your hubby should speak for you, he can call the doctor. . Someone, has to step up and be an advocate for YOU love. You are suffering. They have to find what works for you, could be a nerve block, not sure. But please get the relief you need. If you can''t speak up, give this job to someone that will and won''t rest until you have relief.

Oh my friend. Hang in there. I truly wish there was something I could do to help. I am glad that you are calling daily- call every freaking hour if you have to until they listen and help with the pain. ((HUGS)) In my prayers, as always.

LS: I am glad you like my new Pad. I can''t wait to receive it from Jeff. I hope your doctor will be able to help you. I can''t imagine the pain you are suffering. I would want to pull my head off. They just have to do something for you and that is that!!!!!!!!!!!! Sending you a hug, sweet LS.

Linda

Oh LS, I''m so sorry about the pain. I really wish there was something that could be done now for you! Dust and more dust going out to you for some successful pain reduction.

Could you be referred to a pain management practice while you''re waiting to see the neurosurgeon? I can''t understand why your doctor isn''t doing more to relieve your pain

Not a bad day! What a difference a day makes.

Today's score:

LS = 1
Monster = 0

ETA: and they ran that clip of Anderson Cooper swimming with the sharks again today (the bit from Planet In Peril) woo woo.

Yay! So glad you had a good day today, sweetness. It gives me a boost to hear you doing well!

And dude, Anderson Cooper is so adorable. I haven''t seen this clip you''re talking about but I''ll bet he looked mighty tasty in swimming trunks (or a wet suit?)...will have to see if it''s on YouTube.

Thank you rising sun. I guess I originally thought, ok, we finally have a diagnosis. Let''s get in to the surgeon and deal.....whoa girlie not so fast I guess!

My Dr. seems to be intimidated by this problem.
38.gif
.

I am making the arrangments myself to see a highly respected neurologist. He has the reports and is just trying to find me a slot (as a personal favour to my boss).

The problem I''m running into is that with the upcoming holidays, schedules are very jammed up. And many places are closed for 2-3 weeks.

So hopefully I see the neurologist this week, and if the neurosurgeon gets a cancellation, maybe *maybe* (fingers crossed) I can see him before Christmas.

If I can get the pain under control the wait to see the neurosurgeon into January would be tolerable.

LS

Fingers crossed, dust coming and prayers heading up that you get in ASAP!

Lost Sapphire, I am so glad to hear you had a good day. I sure hope they get you in this week and can get you some good pain meds. I met Anderson Cooper last fall and a business luncheon hosted by CNN, he was a very nice man; I am glad you enjoy watching his program. He was talking about that shark trip at lunch that day. Small world, huh?
