Well, considering that clarity enhancement is routine on corundum, especially rubies, this isn't a shocker.

So adding to the list of corundum treatment.
Plain heat
Diffusion (surface and full)
Irradiation
Coating
Clarity enhancement with polymers, lead glass, and now oil

Also beware of convincing synthetics.

Anything else I miss?

I know there was a PSer who bought a ruby and GIA didn't pick up on oiling, but AGL did.
