I have decided it is time to own my very own loupe. Ame gave me the site where she bought her 30x but my question is do I need a 30x or would a 20x be enough? I know many of you own loupes so how powerful are yours?

Mine is the standard 10x power and it''s fine by me.

I have a 30x also.

I use a 30x because 1) Im a nut and 2) the li ttle 3 pointers are too small for 10x.

I have a 10x, which is fine for everthing I''ve looked at with it (not much, admittedly), but I think I want a 30x as well...just because it is fun!

I have a 10X and a 30X. I could see my diamond''s laser inscription with my jeweler''s 20X though, so I guess what you need depends on (A) how anal or (B) how blind you are.

I actually got the 30X because I wanted some practice at being able to find inclusions, but even with the 30X I can''t find the inclusions in my VS2.

I have a 30x loupe. I wanted to make sure I got one strong enough to be able to see the laser engraved number on girdle.

I just have 10x, but I want to get a 30 eventually so I can see the engraving on the girdle!

I got 10, 30 & 20, in that order. With the 20X I can see the girdle''s inscription (last time I looked), but had trouble with the 30.
