My boyfriend, Corey proposed on Friday the 28th of September. Apparently he has had the ring for about 3 weeks. He had prepared to propose two prior times and had the ring in his pocket both times but said that it just wasn’t the right time. Weeks prior we had talked about how he should propose and I told him that he would know the right time. And he did....
On Friday we had planned to go out to dinner but there was a huge storm coming in and considering that Corey is a meteorologist we were enthralled. It was gaining power and getting huge and he said, “I think we should stay home.” So we did! We would run outside to see the storm coming and then come inside to look at Cor’s new radar program. I took the dogs out once with us and later Cor asked if we could take them in and I decided that I could just do and he could stay outside and watch the storm. But, he insisted that he go with me and on the way back outside he paused and asked where the camera was so I told him. I waited on the stairs to our apartment. He was taking a long time, little did I know he was quickly trying to retrieve the ring from a box above the frig. As I was coming up the stairs to see what the problem was he emerged.
We made our way out to the bench at a little grassy area in front of our apartment. As soon as we sat down he started to tell me how much he loved me and from the first time he met me he knew he wanted to be with me for the rest of his life. In the back of my head I was thinking this would be the perfect time for him to propose. Next thing I knew he was standing up reaching into his pocket and pulling out the box. He got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. By this time I am screaming and crying!
I said of course I will! There was some poor teenage boy out walking his dog and we wrangled him into taking a picture of us. And the rest is history.
We don’t have a date for the wedding yet. We are thinking one and a half to two years down the road. It all depends on several things included where we move after I graduate (Aug. 200. So I will keep everyone up to date. Check out the ring pictures!!
