Wasn’t sure if this should go in vendor reviews as they seem to be diamond vendors, but please let me know if there’s a better place. I just purchased a stone from Jeff for the first time (I mention this as I think I get better treatment than others do at vendors where I’m a regular; Jeff doesn’t know me from Adam). He responded promptly, was super nice, was very accommodating about some timing issues I had, the stone was exactly as described both on his site and in the additional details I requested, it was shipped promptly and arrived in lovely packaging. The whole thing was super easy, professional, really pleasant and no drama, which is just about all I’d ask for. I’d highly recommend him and would buy from him again.

I'm on the hunt for a sapphire and just signed up for his newsletter thanks to you.

Very good to hear. Did you feel the stone matched the photos he provided once you received it?

His studio shot of the stone is very accurate, only slightly different. My stones are sapphires maybe the red garnet in real life will not match the photo.

He charges a restocking fee on commissions if you return them. That gets under my skin, but some people might not mind.

Yes, the pics matched (I’d share the pics if I weren’t an idiot savant minus the savant photographer), and my perception of the stone matched his written descriptions as well.

edited to add, the stone was a yellow sapphire.

Jeff is my go-to cutter nowadays, after a number of successful commissioned pieces, and I hope to start another project with him next year.

DK :))

Count me as another member of the Jeff White fan club! I've bought a couple Gem Scoop stones from him and have had him commission a few pieces for me. Even though I KNOW I'm on the lower end from a price-point perspective, I get the feeling that he treats me just the same as he would treat someone buying a $30K sapphire. Just a super super nice guy and an amazing craftsman. Thanks for sharing your experience too.

I didn't like this either...He is an absolute pleasure to work with, seems very honest, and answers many questions with no fuss.

Yes, he is a no risk vendor, as long as you’re aware of this policy.

I love Jeff! He is so personable, and does beautiful work.
