Hey luckystar, here''s the lowdown on getting married at the courthouse.
No appointments needed. You need to go to 3rd fl personal records and get a marriage license first (cash or credit card, ~$40). Texas has a 72 hour waiting period, but for some reason, today, they let us sign a waiver to get married the same day. If they let you do this, too, you take your license up to the 9th floor and see a judge (we just popped our heads in to all the circuit office and someone told us where to go). The judge will marry you and sign your license, and pay them ~40, too (ONLY CASH! FI had to run to the ATM across the street!). Then you take it back down to personal records. If you want an official copy at that time, you pay them $7 and they just xerox it. Then they send the real one in the mail to you later.
Let me know if you have any other questions about it!
