Mahenge fever - IT''S HERE!

Just a taste now. I''ll post all the pictures when we switch over to the new board.

I must say that it has met all of my expectations...... and they were quite high! It looks like a deep watermelon red on the hand, with million and million of sparkles!

I was having posting withdrawals (I couldn''t even log on to the colored stones page for two days), and I so wanted to comment on this one. Very beautiful!! Congrats.

What I find the most amazing about this stone is how it amps up its color when it is on the hand! There is no missing this stone, and it has nothing to do with size! This picture gives a hint at this, but there is no way to capture the real POP of the stone in a two dimensional picture.

As for mounting, although the two omcs I have it pictured with are pretty, I don''t think they match well enough for sidestones. And I don''t like the warm color next to the mahenge (I know, I''m usually the one praising the warm stones!). I''m thinking whatever diamonds accompany this bad boy need to be sparkling white.
