Hi gals! I know I have been seemingly MIA for a few months now, but I swear I actually still read the posts near daily I just have been a wee bit quiet.
I was hoping you all wouldn''t mind me asking for help- seeing as how you ladies always come up with the best solutions for any dilemma!
Here is mine- as a few of you may recall, after some crazy family drama last year my fiance and I decided to elope right before Thanksgiving. Well at Christmas time everyone was asking us if we would still have a reception. At first DH and I though nah, but the more questions we fielded we decided why not! So we are now less than 3 weeks away from the reception and I need some help!!
I have chosen to wear this 50s style dress- I wanted something fun and poufy and I am thinking of even going with a 50s hairstyle to compliment the dress. The reception is at a house we rented in the mountains of Asheville, NC (even though we will be flying in from San Francisco-- did I mention how incredibly difficult planning a party 3000 miles away from where you live is??
)
The house has an incredible covered outdoor pavillion outside (20X23ft) with a fireplace and after just a few table rentals and some extra chairs I am really getting excited.
So here is the issue (sorry it took so long to get here!) I am having major issues finding shoes to wear with the dress! Since this party will be outdoors for the most part, I need a good pair of shoes to wear. I can''t do anything with a sharp heel because I will sink right into the grass so I was think flats or a wedge. However the more I look the more bored I am by all of the shoes I have seen! I want something fun and FUNKY! I love shoe makers like Naughty Monkey but everytime I see shoes I like that are what I am going for they never come in my size, a 9.5 or 10.
Here is where I am hoping you can help me- help me find either a fun color or funky patterned shoe for me to wear! My only other option is perhaps to go with saddle shoes for the 50s vibe, but I think it could look really silly. Oh, and I would really rather not spend more than $60 for the shoes. Options are greatly needed!!
Sorry for the incredibly long post, I am just at my wits end. To those of you who made it all this way through the post, thank you!!
