Making my dream ring!

I talked about this project in my other thread but now that I have a sapphire and have gotten the ball rolling, I thought I'd make a new one just for this ring.

I went to the jewelers today to see their designs based on my drawing and eventually settled on the rose gold band with RG prongs on the sapphire, then WG on the outer layer for the diamonds.


The image they used was just a stock pink rock, mine will be a little orangier in it:

(This is indoor lighting, it's way pinker in sunlight, but still not quite the purplish-pink that they have from their stock sapphire).

Next up I'll see the wax model, and then after that my ring will be able to come home to me! In total it will be a $3100 hit to my wallet, which I think is fairly reasonable considering the lovely sapphire and (lab) diamond halo. I'm super excited to see it!!

No, none planned for now. I'm trying to keep it sitting fairly close to my finger because all the pointy parts are already enough of a catch-and-break hazard, so I've been thinking that maybe it's best to sacrifice some profile to keep it closer to my finger for safety.

This ring has been done for quite a while now but I never got around to posting an update on it until now

Here it is!

Outside on a cloudy day:

Wearing it the other way, because sometimes variety is fun:

(This isn't flipped, I have the same ring finger size on both hands. Can never decide which side to wear this on!)

And, just for fun, its fluorescence:

(the other ring is a peachy sapphire from Tanzania there for comparison with this one)

Also, in addition to loving my sapphire, I'm really impressed with the diamonds that the jeweler found with it, they sparkle like crazy and are near colorless at F-G.

Anyway yeah, just wanted to update on it!
