Making the house smell fragrant...suggestions?

I have a little scented oil warmer that I love. You use a little tealight candle below the dish filled with water and a couple drops of oil. They have so many scents available and it definitely fills up the house.

What a cutie!

Wow, great ideas!
I use fragrance-free laundry detergent so I can''t use that, but I think I will try a variety of things everybody has mentioned. I''m excited to go out and buy the AC filter, even if it doesn''t last very long.

She''s actually a Boxer puppy! 6 months old right now, that pic was taken 2 months ago. =)

boiling water with cinnimon, nutmeg, almond extract and orange peels!
After boiling - put it in a container? How long does the scent last I wonder?
Use a fairly good sized sauce pan and after the water comes to a good rolling boil...with all the goodies in the pan from the start...then remove from heat and let it sit on stove ...when you cant smell it any longer then heat it up again...

I''m sensitive to scents and very particular - too sweet, too floral makes me sick after awhile. Oil burners work best cos I can pick out any essential oil I like. Just fill the top with water, add a couple drop of your favourite essential oils ( I like peppermint for Christmas, eucalyptus for mornings and Bodyshop''s lemon basil to mask cooking odours) and light a tealight under - that''s it . I use a couple of those on the main floor and that spreads the scent nicely throughout the entire house.

Bodyshop used to sell ceramic light bulb rings that fit around the bulb of a lamp which when you fill with a few drops of oil and turn the lamp on, smells really nice, plus you don''t have to worry about leaving the house with an unattended candle burning. The closest I could find are metal bulb rings from Crabtree & Evelyn that work too but for some reason do not fit as well around my bulbs so they are abit of a hassle to refill.

My favourite candles are from Trapp. Their poured candles smell divine, scent the house quickly without overpowering you and last a long time because you don''t have to burn them that long as the scent lingers. Lemongrass Verbena is my usual pick.

I'm allergic to most of the plug-in Glade-type things and aerosol airfreshners.

I tend to use room sprays from places like the National Trust, Crabtree & Evelyn or The White Company, candles (the Muji ones in tins are gorgeous - I have their cinnamon and orange burning at the moment) or essential oils.

If you have radiators, I find using those things you put water in that hang on them to keep the air from getting too dry are good with a few drops of essential oil.

i wouldn''t do it year around, but our WHole Foods has these huge cinammon scented pinecones when you walk in the door, they smell so yummy and just make me want to curl up with a fire. THose might be good for the holiday/winter season

I gotta say that yankee candles really do smell up my house pretty nicely. Especially the tarts, they''re even stronger than the candles. My sister really likes room spray too. She gets it from bath and body works, and I think they have oil that you heat up too. I didn''t read this whole thread so I apologize if I just repeated everything:)
