Malaya garnet - opinions/ideas?

Well, I was never a garnet person but I found myself strangely drawn toward this small 1.6ct malaya garnet. Opinions?
I imagined it set with green stones but that seems too christmas-y Do you guys think light blue would go well with it? Like turquiose or aqua. All ideas welcomed!

I think it’s gorgeous. I love garnets! It could be a little peachy pink, which would look nice with a cool color like aqua. I think if you match the intensity it will coordinate well. Here is my ruby and apple green demantoid garnet combo. I wear it at Christmas but also for spring and summer parties.

What a lovely stone! I think with the right shade of green, as @MissyBeaucoup did, it doesn't have to look xmasy at all. That being said, I think it'll also look fabulous with blue!! I feel like pink really does go with everything... green, blue, red, orange, yellow, purple... you name it.

@cloud_less David Klass made the ring. I sent him a little sketch with several Ideas and he came up with the idea of the diamonds. I love how he made subtle points on the green “petals”.

I love the idea of a light blue. Aqua would be amazing or even a light tanzanite.
It’s a gorgeous stone no matter what you put next to it. Enjoy that beauty!
