Does anybody know if Mastercutgems are now shipping stones outside the US please (ie to the UK)? I contacted them about a stone about a year ago and they had stopped international sales but the gem I want is still on their website and I really really am interested! I seem to remember somebody in the UK did contact them about something a few months ago and there might have been a way to get it over the pond! Help!!!

I am so so so so so happy! I've just secured the gemstone and it's going to be shipped in the next couple of weeks! I am honestly thrilled to pieces because I've had my eye on this sapphire for over a year and have been hoping and praying nobody would snap it up - and they haven't! So it's mine!!!!! What a wonderful woman Rachelle is. We spent ages on the phone and although I knew Mastercutgems had a wonderful reputation, speaking to her, it was clear why! Amazing help and I can't wipe the smile off my face! Why is there no "happy dance" emoji?!!!!!

Yes of course. I’ll find some photos and post! I agree it’s not a great time to be buying but I’ve wanted this sapphire for over a year - I think if it’s meant to be then sometimes karma intervenes. Fingers crossed the same happens for you.

THIS is my baby! She’s 2.19 unheated and comes with an AGL brief. Eye clean although does have two small veils (not surface reaching).

I know this is not the ideal colour that people want BUT I find that the colour blue in gemstones doesn’t perform as well in the dreary grey UK light we have so I wanted something more along the lines of a periwinkle and I’m a sucker for anything octagon!

What I also love about this stone is the cut. Like many other cuts, you can sometimes suffer with the 50/50 blacking out as the stone moves but this beauty just looks lively nearly all the time.

I don’t know why this has been with Mastercutgems for so long but it was obviously waiting for me and it’s come along at just the time in my life when I need a big “pick me up”.

I’m attaching the video as I think this is hopefully what I’ll see! The video was taken late afternoon outdoors and so inside will darken a bit I think.

EDIT: This is screaming Art Deco to me so that’s the inspiration I’ll go with for a setting.

I'm glad to hear you have the stone! Its beautiful and I admired it a lot but I have some spinels (fr Dana) I still havent set They are so nice!

You're not going to believe this but I've been playing around with setting ideas and this is similar to one I like. In my design the baguettes are too small but I wanted to show you!

What did you end up doing with your stone?

I ended up buying the "sister" stone of mine (both cut from same piece of rough), so I'm making a rose gold snake ring out of them!

This is an Imperial Topaz we saw in a jewelry store priced at $12k, with no cert!!! Needless to say it isn't ours, but DW loved the proportions, so I took a photo for future inspiration. I noticed it was like your mockup but different enough to be worth posting.
