My BF and I are flying to Florida for the Easter weekend. We leave tomorrow and come back Monday, and he is staying at my place tonight. All night he has been giving me this look and saying really endearing things, like "we belong together" and "I just love being with you, because everything is more fun" and so on. He usually says mushy stuff like this anyway, but it is making me wonder if this might be the weekend. I am focusing on being excited for the trip alone, and not on a possible proposal, because I don''t want to get myself worked up over nothing and then be resentful.

Not that I want to get my hopes up, but he has said before June.

He still has my birthday, our four year anniversary, and his law school graduation and the events surrounding that to consider, all coming up next month. I will have to let you ladies know how everything goes.

It could happen this weekend, but he could be getting extra-mushy because he''s almost ready to purchase a ring that won''t be ready for a little bit. You never know. I really hope that it happens this weekend though. We also seem to have some staunch believers in women''s intuition around here!

Ahhhh.... the anticipation!! My boyfriend has been extra-cute lately too, which makes me wonder if a proposal could be coming soon (though it''s been a few weeks of that and no ring...) But I think Blenheim is dead-on in suggesting it could also be because he''s right on the verge of making the big purchase, and getting excited about it himself! Do you think if he HAD the ring, that he''d be able to wait until one of those other occasions? Or would he just do it the first chance he got...

Either way, sounds like you''ll have a great trip!!

Sounds like a wonderful vacation equestrienne!!! I agree with the other ladies that maybe he is just getting his plan into gear and is getting excited about it all. Even if it doesn''t happen on the trip, it really sounds like it is getting close!!!

False alarm, ladies!

How did I know that this was not to be the proposal weekend? Right before the flight down to Florida, he and I were sitting in the terminal near our gate, and he got up to find a tissue. As he got out of his seat, he knocked over his carry-on bag and rather than stop to pick it up, he kept on walking and left it lying there near my feet. At that point, I started to giggle, thinking to myself that if there was a ring in that suitcase, he would have frantically grabbed for it and set it upright to protect his investment. I told him this when he got back and he found it highly amusing too.

Even without a sparklie, Florida was beautiful. We did have a fantastic trip, and we spent a meal or two discussing things like engagement and weddings with his mother and stepfather which was a welcome first. My BF does seem to have something up his sleeve, though, as he continued to tease me throughout the trip and made comments like "maybe I have a deposit on something, and maybe I don''t." I do believe that there is a purchase in the works, then. I''ve been with him four years and by now, I can tell when he is trying to hide something.

Won''t be long now...
