FF can''t seem to stop joking about eloping. He brings it up on his own and seems to think it''s clever and cute. We both want a church wedding (we are religious), so I know he''s only kidding. But that''s the thing-- I wish he wouldn''t kid. I''m not upset about the subject at all, but I guess until we''re in the home stretch of waiting for engagement I''d rather not be talking about it all the time. All it does is keep me antsy about it. I love him with all my heart, but sometimes he is a little dense.

Sorry, just wanted to vent.

Hi Leggo, Men just don''t get it about the jokes sometimes. Your''s jokes about eloping, mine jokes about divorce, and I reply with we''re not married and he says then lets get married (joking around because I know it''s gonna be awhile before he proposes and that''s definately not the way I hope he would propose) He did that when I was pissed one day and I replied very sharply, that until he was ready to SERIOUSLY talk about getting married to knock the jokes off because they were starting to piss me off. With which he was silent. I wish mine wouldn''t joke about that crap either, for an odd reason it gets me thinking of the kind of wedding I want and the dress and the rest that goes with it. Errr, they just don''t get it do they? And here''s a question, do they ever?

LOL! I can totally relate. SO likes to say on Friday evenings, when he is feeling sentimental, let''s just get married. Just come up here, and we can get married. EVERY courthouse is closed on Saturdays.

And Sundays.

And he doesn''t mean it, anyway.

Hey Leggo,

I am right there with you. My BF will say "let''s jet off to Vegas and get married" and it agitates me so much, b/c we both know that we want a big family wedding, and clearly Vegas would be not nearly as great as with our families, friends etc.

Although, mine also likes to remind me that I am going to be the Future Mrs. P. and he can''t wait to get married. Grr

I know he is just trying to be cute, but it definitely stings a bit when you don''t have the ring...

Anyway, stick in there and we can keep venting and supporting each other through PS
