MMM Thanks for posting more pictures your wedding was just magnificent.

Wow, everything is soooo gorgeous! Every little last detail looks so coordinanted and professional! You are just beautiful! Congratulations!

Simply STUNNING!

Thanks for coming back and sharing more pics.

*sigh*

If you can stand another question about your wedding, can you tell me if you rented that spot light underneath the tree at the reception area? Or did the venue provide it?
FI noticed it on this picture.
ALP_W_MM_1217.jpg

It's the tree on the far left.

Your photographer is awesome. So that's what you get with a $x000.00. I should stop looking because it makes me want one that good too

Thanks for the pictures; I can't stop looking at them. You and Musey's are my two favorites...FI now agrees that details like the color of ribbons are important, so thank you!

Gorgeous photos, GORGEOUS wedding! I love the yellow and all the little details! Wonderful!! You looked amazing too!

choro - that light was provided by the venue. i acutally didn''t even know they had any lights outside at all; i''d only visited the site during the day. i really kind of wish they would have told us and asked us if we wanted them. the light your referring to looks nice, but i hate that green one! i mean, maybe if we''d had green in our colors...
anyways, that was the estate''s doing. : )

also, i''m glad your fiance is getting on board with details! michael helped me with almost every single little craft project but all the while definitely did not think tying 150 little bows or lining the backs of invites, or whatever the task of the moment was, was worth it. but now that it''s all over and we look back on pictures he mentions all the time how much he loved our wedding and how completely glad he is that we put in so much effort on the small things!!

Okay so, I love your wedding! Go Gators, my fiance and I just moved to DC from UF. I was wondering (though I may have missed it) where was your wedding in Florida? And can you tell me about your engagement ring? Its beautiful!

Hi kelbelle.
I like finding other gators on this board! : )

The wedding was in Sarasota; very near the Sarasota/Bradenton airport.
We are form Tampa, so it was about 45mins to an hour drive for us and our guests. Its funny, now living in LA, NO ONE would consider an hour drive any kind of schlep at all! But, coming from Tampa, that is considered “destination” – hah.
So, we did have to reserve a block of rooms at the hotel next door and friends of our families hosted a farewell brunch the next morning.

About my ering…
The stone and setting are from mark turnowski (engagement rings direct).
He was wonderful and I seriously still tell my husband how in love I am with my ring at least once a week – and I’ve had it for about 3-1/2 years! I’m just still not used to how beautiful it is!

If you want some detailed information on the process, go HERE

And if you want to see more pictures than you ever needed to see, go HERE.

: )

MMM again, I love all your photos! I'm so glad you posted more. Haha, I wouldn't have even known the navy suits were different until you pointed it out. Guess it's true that it's not even noticeable! I thought they all looked great together.

And I LOVE the idea of the hangtag to put in the cars - how creative!!! And sneaky!!! Did you have an idea of how you would have done that if they weren't valet parked?

ETA: Poor beagle puppy!

Wow, your wedding was absolutely fantastic! You, your DH, and everyone else looked gorgeous. Your pictures were gorgeous. Amazing! I love all of the personal touches and the detail that went into it. I especially love your descriptions of places you saved money because those details all looked so elegant and beautiful that I never would''ve suspected they were done on the cheap (your table runners and cake come to mind).

MMM, where did you get the grooms cake topper? I saw those pictures and I was like Oooh no!!!!
39.gif
The topper looked so cute!!!

FI & I want to put our dog as our cake topper.

luvthemstrawberries - do you mean how would i have gotten hang tags into cars if there wasn''t valet parking? or, how would i have gotten the photo sharing out without hang tags?
other ideas i read for getting the photo sharing info out is to make little cards (like business card size) and have them at each place setting, or to attach the information to your favors. i really preferred the hang tag idea because then i KNEW it at least made it into the car. if they were just loose, they''d very likely be left behind.

lliang_chi - dont worry no "real" cake toppers were harmed in the making of that photo. that was a was part of the cake and was made of sugar and icing and whatever else they used to make it. whitney (maid of honor/beagle eater) knew we had no interest in going home with any part of our cakes (it will be a cold day in hell when my fiance agrees eats anything that''s been in the freezer for a year) : )

I came back to see the added pics! I was also impressed that you let the guys wear a navy suit of their own! What a great idea! Even if they had to buy one, it is something that they can certainly use again as opposed to renting a tux! I am definitely going to remember this idea (for my daughter who hopefully will be engaged this year!).

Hi! Back to answer some questions :)

Morgie – I had my wedding band made by a local jeweler here in los angeles. (Universal Jewelers) While we were purchasing michael’s wedding band I described the ring I wanted and asked if they had one like my description. They didn’t, but said they could just make it for me. It was all very easy and painless. My engagement ring was such a long, detailed process (although I loved the whole thing), but my wedding band was very much the opposite. I said I wanted a fishtail pave, eternity band, 2mm wide, in platinum. It was ready in about a week or so. And they guarantee against stones falling out (they’ll fix it for free) – which can be a common problem with very thin eternity bands, so it’s nice to have that piece of mind. : )

Choro – I believe you can get chair ties through any linen rental company. Ours were rented with our linens, although the caterer placed the order so I don’t know the company. I requested samples from first of the yellows and grays they carried so I could make sure the colors would be right. I think it is such a great tip if you are trying to save some money! Actually, even if you’re not on a tight budget (but isn’t everyone?), I still think it’s a great idea.

iloveprincesscuts – the grooms cake wasn’t a surprise; although that does sound like a fun idea! but that cake was completely michael’s vision. He was going back and forth between wanting a meeka (our beagle) cake or a gator (university of florida) cake, so we smashed them together and put meeka in a gator jersey. The cake was in a side room which also had the second bar. So it wasn’t right next to the wedding cake, but was still seen by everyone. We cut the wedding cake first, and then right after, they took they wedding cake to the kitchen to be sliced for serving, and carried the grooms cake over for its own first cutting.

luvthemstrawberries – you are correct, I had my hair down for the ceremony and formal pictures, but then put it up for the rest of the night. Reason being, florida is super humid and my hair loooves to get frizzy. So I figured it could manage being down for a while, but not for 6+ hours. So, after the formal pictures (taken after the ceremony) my maid of honor pinned it up for me. She’s in no way a hairdresser, she just strangely has the hidden talent of sticking in bobby pins till it looks good.

brightstone – thank you so much! I do not have perfect skin but honestly after having really bad skin from ages 9-20 I appreciate my complexion so, so, so much! (I think that might be weird to say…?) Anyways, it may not always be perfect, but I am just so happy to have emerged from the bad-skin years (over a decade!) without scars and into the world of not thinking about my face all day, everyday . Anyways, that was beside the point. I saved money by having my friend do my makeup, so I felt like I could allow myself to purchase nice, quality make up for her to work with. I’d never really spent much money on make up before so I did some research beforehand and I decided on smashbox. Since their products are specifically made for photographers it really photographs very nicely. The first time I saw a picture of myself in it I couldn’t get over how much more tan I looked! But really, I just was used to seeing my face 2 shades lighter in photos b/c of the light reflecting off my old, maybelline powder. Now, I’ve moved onto bare minerals (which some people hate, but I am LOVING). But I’d still recommend smashbox too. Especially for a highly photographed day (actually, your most photographed day EVER!).

sorry these replies are so wordy! oops!
and I swear ill be back with more pictures soon :)
wow - so you did a "cake cutting" for the wedding cake and then a "cake cutting" for the grooms cake too? ohhhh maybe i''ll do that, my hardest thing is how to present the grooms cake, FI has NO IDEA and wont know until its "presented" and im trying to think of the best way to do it, say you did your grooms cake all on your ownany>

MMM, did your groom''s cake baker make your little meeka topper?

Thanks,
Lisa

thanks diamondseeker2006. it definitely made me feel a lot better knowing that even if they were going to have to spend money on a suit (and i think 2 of them did) they could chose one they would happily get more use out of. or they could choose the cheapest suit they could find, or however they wanted to play it. we also specified a solid white shirt of their choosing, and then we found and bought the ties. oh, and any brown shoes. :)

iloveprincesscuts - yes we did two cake cuttings back to back. which seems kind of weird and i didnt have planned out beforehand (and i had EVERYTHING planned out - a 22 page timeline which was since been passed along to 4 other brides and is now simply known as "the matrix"). i thought we''d just cut the wedding cake and then both would be cut up and served. however, i guess the caterer had other plans and just brought it right on over for us to cut. but it worked out fine and i''m glad we did do two because otherwise we wouldn''t of had pictures of us with the cake. its not like you just go around taking photos with your desserts, you know? but a cutting gives you a perfect opportunity to!

lliang_chi - yes, exactly. the "topper" was part of the cake. we just sent the cake maker a few pictures of our dog and a picture of a gator jersey and they made it. it might look confusing because shes holding it as if its something you would naturally pick up. but its not. hah. it''s made of fondant or sugar or something.

Hahaha, that''s funny, because the reason I asked was that the spotlight would be perfect for our theme! Although I have to agree that the green light is bizarre.

yea, no help here on the up lights. sorry.
but i know you can rent them...

So can I hire you to do my wedding? Please? Pretty please?? Those pictures are GORGEOUS. And you did so much and for so cheaply - you should totally write a book!!

That''s what I was asking - thanks! I was just wondering how you would have shared photo information if there wasn''t valet parking available so you could do the hangtags.
