I just modified two of my necklaces so that I would actually wear them more often! I have banned myself from buying NEW jewellery, but there's no law against upgrades, right?
First up, is the Senhoa necklace that I bought myself when I got out of debt. Yay! I no longer had the chains of debt around my neck, and so I bought... Chains that went around my neck. Haha. But the necklace was so heavy and edgy, that I had only worn it out and about twice! In three years! Sad!
Today I had the necklace divided and made into two. I think I will enjoy it much more now! I can wear the plain one often, and the edgy one when I feel like it and the event calls for it. And they're light enough that they're not annoying to wear! Yay!
I think I will make the spiky one a little longer. [Sorry the photos are sideways.]
Total cost for upgrades: $15
Next up, we have a necklace from my dear husband! He knows I love jewellery, and about two years ago he bought me a necklace. This was very exciting because he has only bought me jewellery two other times: earrings, and an engagement ring! But the necklace was sooo not the length/style that I knew how to wear. I found very few tops that I felt it went with. I wore it often-ish, considering that I felt it didn't go with anything! But now that I've lengthened it, I LOVE IT, and I wear it all the time! It goes with everything!
Considering how sentimental I am about jewellery, this one is a pretty big win. I love wearing this gift from DH
Total cost: $5 I think? Maybe less.
