Mon Cheri Wedding Gown ALERT - Any one else?

I ordered my GORGEOUS Mon Cheri gown from a bridal store in December and they told me the ship date would be the beginning of February. Well, the ship date came and went, so I called for a status. They are just as confused as I am. They call the sales rep, etc and here is the low down: apparently a factory in China was shut down affecting several dress makers, including Mon Cheri and Jordan and because of it, all the dresses are back ordered and my new and improved ship date occurs after my wedding. The sales rep is working on getting my gown to me before then, but... Anyway, I thought I would reach out and see if anyone else has run into this or heard this.

Crap! I just ordered my gown... Wednesday! It's Mon Cheri. Frick. I'm gonna have to give netbride a call, cause now I'm worried!!! Thanks for the FYI! I hope you get your dress in time! I'd be so freaked. ((HUGS)) Do you have a 'back up' gown? Can we help you find one? Which dress of theirs did you order?

Thank you all for the kind words. I am looking for a back up gown, but when you think you''ve found THE gown, it''s tough to jump back in to looking. I ordered the Ophelia gown- I''d paste a photo in, but I''m having a hard time copying the image.

oh no. I''m so sorry. I hope you get your dress in time. How well does the sample fit you? Maybe you could buy the sample from the salon.
 
My friend had ordered Jordan bridesmaid gowns in November and just found out they were affected by the closure as well. The new ship date they gave her was the week before her wedding, so she just ordered different gowns from Alfred Angelo instead.

That sucks that it''s your wedding gown though, that would be much harder to switch than the bridesmaid dresses! Good luck!
 
Oh no! Is the shop willing to give you a total refund if you find something else? Can you order that dress from anywhere else where it wouldn''t be made in China? I hope everything works out for you!
 
I have to say, this post was one of the smarter things I''ve done. You guys are great. I ordered a size 8 and the salon is deeply apologetic. Here''s the catch. I looked high and low for my gown and never found the "right" one. When I saw this one in a magazine, I started making calls. No one had it. I had to order it sight-unseen. The bridal shop told me that if I didn''t like it upon arrival, I didn''t have to buy it. Apparently, the bridal shops haven''t even received their samples from Mon Cheri - thank you for the suggestion Sabine and gtn.

Sorry about your friend, Mustang Gal. Luckily it wasn''t her gown, but I''m sure that didn''t the stress part of planning.

Just to let everyone know, they tracked down a sample of my dress in another state, so it should be here shortly. I''m so relieved and excited!

Hi kibride, did you manage to get your dress on time? I''m really interested in the Ophelia dress too, but I''m not in the US, so there''s no way I can see one, or try one on before buying it. The website pictures are really pretty, but you can never really tell!
